For 15K their are alot better boats out there than Javelin get a skeeter or another big name boat they will make fishing more enjoyable. Also try to stick to merc/yamaha when it comes to outboards.

Nitros are excellent rough water boats. Had no problem staying out in the wind this year while others were running for the coves. Just saying. The delamination issues are a thing of the past (cue the Z9 that delaminated thread cause I know someone is looking for it). Fit and finish is the difference. Just not as nice as say a Ranger. To me you can't beat a Ranger in that department. There are plenty of boats to choose from so go for the one you want not what others want for you.

All matter of of what you like and what you are use too. Had Ranger that had delamination issues. Know of skeeters with same isues. Yes last three boat are Nitro and never had any problems. Like anything else good and bad in all makes and models.

Yep, that is the one you DO NOT WANT. it put Evenrude in bankruptcy. There is a 1998 Champ 203 and Bill Dee's 2001 Bass Cat in the classified section. Those are both very good rigs and appear to be in great shape.

I am interested in a 20ft Javelin Renegade, but dont know mucha about them

I would stay with a bigger name like Basscat,Skeeter, Ranger, etc....

Fixed it..and I agree

BassCat only have a few dealers in Texas and none in D/FW only 1 out in Rockwall County.

Since you Basscat Guys are always having to call Customer Service, then I would be shy of buying a BC

Does Ranger even have customer Service or just who ever can work on them. Where is the Rangers owners tournament at again?

Man just take you time and find the boat that's works for you alot of good ones out there.

I heard Ranger out sourced their CS to India ... partyon

Thanks to everyone for the input. After a long search, I bought a boat today. I found a 2000 HAWK 2100 DC w/ a 99 225 merc optimax. I pick it up in about a week after the new electronics are installed.

I don't know about the buyers market in boats. After looking for quite a while, in Feb I got a 99 Skeeter with a 200 for $12K. After tax, title, licences you're at $13; buy decent electronics-add $2K; outfit with some needed stuff and get the motor checked out (with new impeller), add another $1K. So the $12K boat is now $16K for a "99"
