Just curious why so many think with Nitro quality isn't there? Can you give some examples of problems you have had or heard of with Nitro. They sure have been around a long time and lots of them on Rayburn and Toledo Bend. I always heard they were second only to Champion for big water ride.

In my expierence it's nothing major, it's the small things. Next time you're at BPS take a really close look at a Nitro. The hinges, the fit and cut of the carpet, the sharpness of the chines, the dash, etc.. Then compare those same things on a Legend, BassCat, Ranger, Skeeter, etc. From a distance a Nitro looks fine, but up close -- not so much.

Buyer Market for used boats
15K should get you 2005ish with at least a 200 hp
I would stay with a bigger name like Basscat,Skeeter, Ranger, etc.... Fixed it..and I agree BassCat only have a few dealers in Texas and none in D/FW only 1 out in Rockwall County. Since you Basscat Guys are always having to call Customer Service, then I would be shy of buying a BC Does Ranger even have customer Service or just who ever can work on them. Where is the Rangers owners tournament at again? Man just take you time and find the boat that's works for you alot of good ones out there.

There would just be empty bays and board mechanics if there were more. In all seriousness just go drive them all and go with what makes you happy. It's your money.

i was not sure about a nitro and don;t know that i would ever buy one but my BIL here in mass bought one and it is a nice boat. i was impressed with it. now the lakes here aren't as rough and big so mayber thats why it was nice but i don't have anything bad to say about. in fact, his is 18'6'' and mines is 19'6'' and he has a wider casting deck than what i do. i think too it all depends on how often you fish. i have a champion and love it but a nitro might be just fine since i don't fish month during the school year and i only get to fish weekends. if you fish everyday a champuion, skeeter, etc might be the best way to go.

2000ish champion 19-20', 200 merc efi. probably spend about 10-12k on one of those. you can find some deals out there, just gotta hunt.
don't spend your whole budget, you gotta have room for power poles, side imaging, ect.....
