I have been telling myself I need to upgrade to a bigger, faster, better fiberglass boat, so I put my 99 sea ark for sale last week. Yesterday it sold. As the buyer was driving her off. I realized I dont have a boat! I cant fish! I am looking to spend no more than 15k, and want a DC with at least a 200hp nothing older than 2000. Any Ideas?
I am interested in a 20ft Javelin Renegade, but dont know mucha about them

Buyer Market for used boats
15K should get you 2005ish with at least a 200 hp
I would stay with a bigger name like Skeeter, Ranger, etc....

This is when it might make sense to look at Nitro. They don't hold resale value well when compared to Ranger, BassCat, etc., so you might be able to get more boat for your limited funds then with other brands.

Do you have a Javelin you are looking at? Javelins were real good boats in the 90s. Most of them came with Evinrude/Johnson outboards as Javelin was owned by OMC. Only thing I would be careful about are the RAM/FICHT fuel injected evin./johnson engines. Real bad engine. Find a javelin with the Intruder or Vindicator series engines and it should be a good boat. The Evinrude Intruder was a very reliable engine up to 175 horse the vindicator was also a good engine but worst fuel economy I ever owned.

There's a lot of later model boats for sale right now. I'm not sure of older boats though. As far as a buyers market, maybe, but my 07 sold quickly and I got a fair price.

Good Point, I just don't think the quality is there with a Nitro, but if it's a smoking deal then I sure wouldn't rule it out

do what i am doing. I just sold my 2007 ranger 188. watching her drive away was a very sad moment. now i am using my kayak while i look for my replacement boat. Go get a used kayak and fish while you look for the right boat. take your time and you will come across the perfect boat for you.

I would stay with a bigger name like Basscat,Skeeter, Ranger, etc.... Fixed it..and I agree BassCat only have a few dealers in Texas and none in D/FW only 1 out in Rockwall County. Since you Basscat Guys are always having to call Customer Service, then I would be shy of buying a BC
