I was actually stopped for the very first time while in the boat yesterday. I was fishing on Decker about 30 yards from this funny lil Asian guy. (Hootin and hollarin and jumpin up and down and pointing when he saw some baitfish around us or fish finder was goin off) GW approached him first and when i saw em i took ya'lls advice and just got everything out and layed it on the bow. They came up to me pulled alongside taking care to stay away from the back half of the boat where all my poles were. The lady just stood up in her boat spouted of the needed items as she saw them, asked if i had any luck, i only had a couple whites and one hybrid, i lifted em out of the well she nodded and asked if i had my license i pulled it out and that was good enough for her. They wished us luck and headed for a couple guys on a jet ski, they evidently were not as lucky, they were towed back in and were still at the ramp with the GW an hour later when we pulled out.

Most are professional in doing their jobs. Have been stopped on T-Bend several times and they were always professional. I try to stay legal so nothing to worry about. Sometimes, they will even tell you what the fish are doing in the area.

He got real mad when I asked him if he was mad b/c I honked my horn at the turkeys to move them out of the road so he hit the lights and told me to slow down at the stop sign again. Then I asked you a Park Ranger man he blew up LOL!!!! He was in a white truck that's why I asked him that. But then he comes to our wiegh in and starts to write tickets ASK RANDY TAYLOR LOL!!!!!

We meet a cool one at fairfield on day. A buddy of mine just got a 2 man boat and boat a new motor for it. He did not have any numbers or even had it titled yet, we just went to try it out with the new motor it see how it would work. the gw was at the ramp and asked about the numbers and my buddy explained to hem and he said go ahead and fish. The boat is up to speck but it was cool for him to let us go ahead.

I can say I have never met a rude warden myself. I figure they have a job to do and just need to be fair and firm, not rude.
I have a motor cop friend. He says he hates his job. He says all he does is hand out speeding tickets all day. He says EVERY contact with the public is NEGATIVE and people curse him daily. It must be hard for him to be nice all day with that kind of thing going on day in and day out. Ironically his kid was killed in a car wreck. He does it because he is trying to make it safer for all of us. He is a cool dude off duty. Drinks beer, likes to fish and hunt, Ya know like most of us. Just a regular Joe. However when he does his job people hate him for it. He dose not make people speed or drive fast. He just enforces the laws the law makers in Austin put in place to keep us safe. I can't help but to believe most people get pi$$ed when they get caught doing whatever the do to get caught. I have to say I don't get mad when I do something that gets me caught doing something wrong. After all I knew it was wrong. I am sure that is why some wardens are fussy and smug sometimes. It is the same kind of deal with them too......Jim

Fish Hauler,
Yep, I'm not even going to try and take up for 95% of those who hunt Ft Hood!! And YES, I do know good Game Wardens from bad. One of my good friends in Ky is one, and he frequently gives breaks that I myself would not. My brother in law is Also a TPWD GW in North Tx. he can be the same AHole I'm talking about when the mood arises. YES, I know everyone has bad days, but coming back 2 more times when the same truck is sitting at the same spot when I was legal the first time? I have been checked over 100 times in 8 years of being on/around Hood. not once have I been out of regulation, and never will be. All I was saying, is where do you draw the line between doing your job to standard, and just messing with people??

I was hunting a permanent stand in a limited range (Shotgun with slugs, or muzzleloader) unguided area...you can do any type of hunting you wish as long as it is a legal method.

Game Wardens doing drug raids ?? hmmm

Yup happens all the time. He has stated many times it has become nearly his full time job. I don't know if that's the law that GW's must assist the sheriff in the county they are in or just policy if the sheriff's office request it.

Picture in the paper every week with everyone wearing a vest (Sherrif's office, Game Warden etc..) with whatever they found.

Don't GW have more rights as far as going on your property than any other LEO? No search warrant needed. That might be the reason for them being present during a raid as most are way back in the woods.

I have two friends that I went to college with who are wardens in Throckmorton County. I also know one of the younger ones that patrols Lewisville. Good guys but serious about their job.

In a lot of counties in TX, TPWD GW's are the best educated and trained LEO in their counties. In small counties it's all hands on deck when it comes time for dangerous LE work like raids.

I agree to a point...but when the senior game warden says he no longer does game warden work due to being with the sherrifs office everday it's gone too far.

The only people that complain about law enforcement officers are usually the ones who were up to no good in the first place IMO
