Sounds like this is about someone named Red on Fork that could use some lessons on how to treat folks. I don't who else on here has ever met Mike at Lake Fairfield, but I've never been checked by a more courteous guy. Seen him coming,so I quit fishing and already had everything ready. He quickly checked me out & then told me a place to try.Too bad they all can't be like him.......unless I just caught him on a good day.WIth all that said there's NO Reason to harass us when we're out trying to get rid of Stress!Like it's been stated, there's alot of people, who deal with alot worse, that still treat people with Respect.

I'd like to pile onto that Fairfield State Park, Mike Kleinert accolade. The nicest park superintendent and SP Police Officer you may ever meet. A guy who really cares about yours and others safety first, expects his facilities to be used in a lawful manner, then really does what he can to help you have a good time enjoying his park. That goes equally well for Rodger, and the remainder of Mike's staff.
Being a Park Policeman or GM isn't easy, they deal with some really bad or deceitful folks at times, and do it without immediate backup forces readily at hand most of their day. Their days are much longer than ours and I know how grouchy I can get when deprived of sleep for a few days...for other than a fishing. Yet they have great dispositions. We visit them when the weather suits us, they manage their park come good or bad weather, 24/7.
TPWD needs to be rightfully be proud of Mike and his staff. When the park service decides to promote Mike I sure hope he gets a chance to impart his views and methods to his replacement. If TPWD decides he needs to move up, in my opinion they ought to think about how they can have him somehow handling hiring and training all the future park managers, at a pristine location of his choosing of course, like Fairfield State Park.
By the way do not misinterpret this message, if you want to risk yours or others safety, or do illegal things then expect some rightful justice but still be treated with respect and courtesy.

Not to hijack this topic- Must say, on my experiene, as well as our clients- All GameWardens, on Lake O.h.Ivie; have been polite, respectful and very professinal in their duties. I have been checked several times, during back- too back trips, and nothing but courtisies and manners shown by them.- With the above stated and inmind, I have witness these Men, "Rock Some Folks World" in regards to attitude, and boater saftey. I am glad they are out there, 24/7. It keeps us all safe. Thanks Bittercreek

Not a hater here. Just someone who is venting a little steam. Steam that has been building up for 50 some-odd years. 50 years of ever increasing government interference and control in our lives. A non-stop cornucopia of new regulations to adhere to, new fees and taxes...new hoops to jump through. Of course big government mandates cannot function without big government enforcement. ....You know...I just want to go out to the lake and enjoy some peace and quiet, but of course them days are over. I'm probably being unfair to the GW's. I can't say that they have acted any different to me than most other LEO's I've dealt with the past 53 years. I guess the problem is that these encounters have been almost without fail a negative experience, and they seem to be only getting worse. When a good friend of mine retired from the Garland Police several years ago he told me he didn't like working there any more... he said that way too many of the new officers coming out of the academy were a bunch of...and I quote...."Jack-Boot Skin-Head Nazis." His words, not mine. This was from a very highly respected and well liked member of the crimes against persons unit of the GPD with 20 years of service. I see the skin-head cops every where I go nowdays. I don't need to repeat to those of you who have been up against these guys what a horrible experience it can be. Yall know. And to those that don't...well that's super, you're very lucky.
And for the record, I'm not an outlaw and I've never been to jail. I've only gotten 2 speeding tickets in my life.
