Ok ok ok... maybe it is not a crime to listen to some music at a reasonable volume, but I am thinking more about these fellas I am used to seeing on lake Austin with stereos you can hear for 5 minutes before the boat even passes by...
if it is a small boombox or something that basically only the passengers of the boat can hear, then I guess it is a different story all together...
I fully agree with you. I see no reason in the wakeboard boats and tower speakers and I'm young (27). But that's their idea of fun. I personally just turn on pandora radio on my iPhone and put the phone in cup holder between my seats. It's loud enough to hear yet you won't hear it 15 feet away I gurantee it. Perfect choice until I buy the Lowrance Sonic Hub system

LOL... I am not sure I understand why people wanna listen to music when they are out in nature, so my suggestion is to get some headphones and drive on... that way the rest of the fishermen who are out there for the peace, quiet, and serenity don't have to listen to you bumping the latest Bieber hits as you drive by with your 10,000 watt dual amp powered 15 inch subwoofer Fail. Way to show your opinion on anyone that likes to listen to music while fishing. After all you fish because it's fun right. Guess it's wrong to have music as part of your fun. No. It's wrong to disturb the people around you, plain and simple. It's also really stupid to make a lot of unnecessary noise when you're trying to catch fish. The people around you won't appreciate it. So if you need to listen to music at the expense of those around you, go ahead, but don't get mad when they call you out on it . . .or do 5 donuts around your boat and wash you out because you're being a disturbance. Most people do fish because it's fun. If you're a decent person, you also try not to disrupt others who are fishing. . .and ruining their fun. . .just because YOU want some noise. I fully agree with you. I'm not a fan of the giant systems like wakeboard boats have either but that's not exactly what ColoradoTransplant said at first. He responded to the OP. Since then, Colorado Transplant explaine himself and I think we all agree that loud music on the water is beyond stupid

I'm just gonna throw this out there, not saying I'm right or wrong. We used to fish with music all the time. One day we were fishing a really clear lake and decided to take some underwater video of bringing the fish to the boat. We couldn't believe how loud the music showed up on the underwater camera. It sounded twice as loud as in the boat. Since then we don't fish with music. I can't say 100% if it affects them or not but my thoughts are if the hydrowave works to draw them in music could scare them off. To test this we did pull up on some small bedding fish and cranked it up. Almost all of them would immediately scare off the nest with the music. Just something to think about.

I have a Bose Soundlink Mini, and I use it for quite a few options. At work to play music, bring it homen and use it as a sound bar in the bedroom, and I've taken it to the lake and it does AWESOME. It plays very very well in each environment. It doesn't have a big booming sound, but plays every genre of music with amazing clarity. Its not too loud to disturb anyone on the lake, but will give you good sound to help break the monotony

There are many blue tooth options for portable sound. Jawbone has been mentioned as one option and can be a good choice. Bose has a great sound and have blue tooth options. A product that I want to love but is still a little quirky is a BT speaker called JamPlus. They are the only ones I know that can provide true stereo separation. Get two and set em anywhere. They run about $50 a piece. You can start with one and see if it meets your needs. I say want to love cause I've had to send a couple back cause they wouldn't cink up with the phone but customer service was good. Nothing wrong with as few tunes on the water (or golf course!)as long as you are respectful of others. Good luck nd have fun.

We got these for the kids at Christmas and turn anything into a speaker. Ice Chest, Glass Window, Boat Console, etc. Not sure it isn't too much vibration for the fish though. Power Pod 360. They are much cheaper on eBay, Amazon, etc. We got ours at Sam's Club. http://powerpod360.com/power-pod-360/

With me this is a no no....I fished out of my dad's boat a few years which was equipped with an AM/FM Cassette stereo radio,(that tells ya how long ago that was). It's seemed to me when I turned on the radio I turned the fish off..........We had a camp on Caney Lake in Jonesboro, Louisiana and quiet often I would run to Brown's Landing in his boat and get groceries for breakfast or just go their to eat lunch or dinner; they had really good food, and I'd crank up the tunes on those runs........I don't think I would add a sound system to a boat but if it came with one I'd use it in non-fishing situations...........

G-Project has a Bluetooth speaker sold at Target for $69 and its waterproof. Nothing better than listening to a football game or NASCAR while out on the water!!!

I use the big Jawbone and it sounds good. Little pricey but you can use it everywhere not just the boat the kids use it out by the pool too. Sound is awesome.
