I use about 1-2 gallons each trip.. Tracker with a 4 stroke Merc 40 HP.. My trolling motor gets a workout though..

I've never made a 25 mile run in my life. This is kind of a loaded Question in more ways than one.
A guy that fishes The Bend as his home lake is going to use ALOT more fuel than someone fishing Lew..... No matter what kind of boat or motor.
A guy that Fishes offshore Structure is going to use a lot more fuel than a bankbeater....
I am Curious how many of you guys that claim 5 gallons per trip regularly make 25 mile runs in one direction?

Let me guess. Idle or WFO are your only two speeds. What other speeds are there???

I have a Skeeter Zx225 with a Yamaha 225.I fished at least 4 days a week during this spring and have run just over 100 gallons. I launch as close to the area that I want to fish as I can. I seldom have to run more that 5 miles to any area that I want to fish. Most of the Fort Worth lakes I fish are pretty small and I can get from one end to the other in a couple of minutes.

Depends on how long it takes me to find the fish. once i find them i dont use the big motor.
