120 gallons of gas last month!

I have been tracking my gas purchases, I think I might need a more fuel efficient boat. How much gas do y'all use a month?

Are we talking about just boat gas or truck and boat gas? Obviously just for fishing....

Last time I tracked my total gas usage for a month it was 368 gallons. About $1400 at the time. I quit looking at it.

I average 5 gal per trip on Ray Roberts in my Tracker with a 75.

I would have to combine the last 3 or 4 years to get that total.. last september I fished a 2 day tourey on amistad and I burned 15 gallons for that. I only made 2 day trips and 4 tourney days allast yr tho..

I Got have a 200 merc and have only went through maybe, maybe 12 gallons the last three/four times out!

Amistad and falcon I burn about 25 to 30 in two days.

It will run on methane gas. A tube will run from the fishermans butt to the outboard !!!!! Eat lots of beans

About 5-10 gallons a month. Cheaper to drive to the marina that is closest to your spots than to unload at a marina and spend 20 minutes driving your boat to the spot.

1995 Jonhson 150I It only has a 12 gals.tank. It will last three days of run and gun.

I have been on the lake since January nearly every weekend. I may have burned 100-125 gallons and lots of running. SHO!

Stop fishing or buy a smaller boat if gas is costing too much. I go fishing on the lake once a month and average 5 gallons a trip in my 17-footer, so that's an option.

When you file they will send you a pre-printed form for the next year. (06-106 Texas Claim for Refund of Gasoline or Diesel Fuel Taxes) This is the form!

I think I burned 350 gal all last yr, afraid to see where im @ this yr lol. But I got back $77.00 on the refund, so its worth the 10 min to fill out and send off.

I don't use my boat for work so what ever the gas mileage is is not of concern to me, its for recreational use and I don't worry about costs involved with pursuing fun.

Just curious, what lakes do y'all fish? 120 gallons in a month seems pretty normal to me. I'm positive we use at least that much every month. Of course our 'home' lakes are Rayburn and Toledo, we fish every weekend and we aren't afraid to run them if need be. We have a '09 Yamaha 250 HPDI.

That's what I average in my 20' bullet with a 15" 2.5.

5-6 gallons a trip, one of the great things about having a "fast boat" is that I don't have to push it very hard to run like everyone else and use way less fuel.

I normally drive just fast enough to get the hull up and efficiently running high 50's in the 4500ish rpm range.


My skeeter yammi combo drank way more fuel!!!!!

This is kind of a loaded Question in more ways than one.

A guy that fishes The Bend as his home lake is going to use ALOT more fuel than someone fishing Lew..... No matter what kind of boat or motor.

A guy that Fishes offshore Structure is going to use a lot more fuel than a bankbeater....

I am Curious how many of you guys that claim 5 gallons per trip regularly make 25 mile runs in one direction?

I fish Lake Waco alot, to run 25 miles I would have to go from one end to the other several times. I will burn in 3 days on Fork what I will in 2 months on Waco. The lake you fish has everything to do with fuel consumption.

I use about 1-2 gallons each trip.. Tracker with a 4 stroke Merc 40 HP.. My trolling motor gets a workout though..

I have a Skeeter Zx225 with a Yamaha 225.I fished at least 4 days a week during this spring and have run just over 100 gallons. I launch as close to the area that I want to fish as I can. I seldom have to run more that 5 miles to any area that I want to fish. Most of the Fort Worth lakes I fish are pretty small and I can get from one end to the other in a couple of minutes.

Depends on how long it takes me to find the fish. once i find them i dont use the big motor.
