I just call them Lake Fork Jellyfish. I know it's incorrect but it works for me.

the topic seems to come up on the TFF about this time every year doesn't it also indicate the lake is turning over? I have heard it means the lake is turning over as well! How do the fish respond when the lake turns over? It might just be that they bloom around this time of year and the turnover on Fork is usually relatively consistent in mid September, give or take depending on the year. In my experience the lake seems to cool down and turnover in parts much like in the spring when sections of the lake are in different stages of the spawn. Find what works best for you or spots to try according to that. I don't mind fishing while it's happening you just have to adjust to areas that aren't effected as much like the mids to backs of creeks and shallower water. It doesn't take too long for the fish to get readjusted, but if you're in the belly of it you can be in for a challenge. Buuut, I'm no expert and "the fish usually don't read the same books we do" - as I was once told by a wise fisherman! Anytime is a good time to fish!

That's it! Bryozoans, sometimes referred to as moss animals or ectoprocts are tiny, colonial organisms. Their development does not follow either a true protostome or true deuterostome pattern. They, along with the Phoronids (worm-like animals) and the Brachiopods (bivalve-like animals sometimes referred to as lampshells) are thus classified based on the presence of a specialized feeding structure called a lophophore, an extension of the body wall into a tentacled structure that surrounds the mouth and is either horseshoe-shaped or circular. Bryozoan colonies can be encrusting, arborescent (branching, and tree-like), or even free living. Individuals within colonies may be referred to as either zooids, or polypides. The term polypide refers to the contents of each zooid (gut, lophophore, muscles, etc.) within the body wall (Barnes 1980).
