Depends on how old you are. It gets harder to get out there in this heat when your age is almost half of the daily high temp.

As one of the 'older' fishermen In my twentys Heat made me mad and I fished hard.. In my Thirtys I loved the heat I knew others could not handle it....In my fourtys I was the first out and the last to come in .....In my fiftys I went early and stayed till the boat fiberglass got to hot ....Now in my sixtys I go to the shop touch the boat and say "to hot to fish"
Before long I will watch the weather and say " Dang them boys are going to suffer today"

you Texas folks seem to have had a rough year this year with it either being to windy or to hot. Here in Nebraska I fish every weekend from end of March to Nov. Last week's tourney was 105 but like someone mentioned I drink lots of water and gatorade and wear under armor heat gear. Love that stuff. I then take off Dec-Feb to recharge my personal batteries and start the year off with a trip to Fork. My point in all this is it is never to hot to fish!!

I hate winter so much I love the heat. 110 is ok by me, although I pray for some rain so we dont have to dust the fish off after they are caught. Until a few years ago, I didnt even take water, gatorade to fish a tournament, no food or no drinks, just ice for the livewell. As I get older now im taking a bottle of water or 2 now.

I'm with elkhunter7x6 -when I turned 41 I find myself saying its " Too Hot ". When me and my buddies do go its from early to boat on the trailer at 1130 or 12pm. Back under the A/C.

I am not as old as some of you - Lets just say 29 and holding.

But, the heat has never bothered me, as long as I start my day out in the heat and stay acclimated to it.

I will drink me a 6-8pack of water in this heat if I fish from 5:30 to 3 or 4pm, but other than that I am going fishing. I hope all of you are wrong and its more of a state of mind, becuase I would rather be fishing than sitting in the house watching TV. We will see if my attitude changes as I approach my golden years.

The one thing that does bother me about the heat is the rapid evaporation rate of our lakes and ponds. I simply want some rain in feet not inches to our lakes and ponds fill back up.

Age does not always determine how well you can take it. I am already past 63 and can take it. Some days I may come in for a couple of hours during the middle of the day but it all depends on how far from the ramp I am at the time. Also depends on how well the fish are biting. To me it is more of a mindset than anything else.....

Bring several bottles of Gatoraid or water and get over it. It's mostly psychological unless you're getting up there in age or have some sort of health problem. I'll take 110 over 32 any day.

It is never too hot. Fish might be hanging below the thermal line so have to adjust your fishing patterns. I get focused on fishing I forget to hydrate. Turning 50 this year and had a bout with a nasty kidney stone several years ago. Attributed to fishing long stretches without drinking water, too much tea and peanuts.

Just gotta hydrate yall! I recently picked up a Buff and a cool tie, they work wonders for keeping you as cool as possible. Regardless I'll be fishing a tournament on Lake Worth tonight from 6pm-9:30pm. Hopefully it will have cooled down to 100 by weigh in!
