Iam going to head up the weekend before christmas, weather permitting. I have never been to Granbury so I hope someone could help me out. I have an eighteen foot cc fully loaded. Was planning on launching at business 377, is this ramp ok and good, if not Ill find somewhere else. Was wondering how this lake fishes, should I fish down by the dam, mid lake or above 377. Should I fish the deep channels, the channel bends, the flat, ledges or humps? Depths? Is there any obstructions in the lake, trees, sandbars, or anything else I should stay away from. Was planning on driving right down the middle of the river channel to avoid obstructions. Should I catch live bait, or just fish with lures. If anyone could help me out it would be greatley appreciated.

channell all the way from dam to tintop is well marked. fish with patience anduse methods you would use on other lakes. purchase a map of lake. the 377 town ramp isgood as is the rough creek/hunter park/dam and tintop ramps. ramp at stro8d creek is adequate. Security at all is good I think, neveruse ,as i livbe on lake, but haven't heard any negative reports. Get in touch with pm if I can be of further assistance.

Just wondering if the fish are all over the lake or more north, south wherever. Just dont want to spend $60.00 in gas figuring out the lake. Also if the birds are working? What time of day is best, morn, noon, late afternoon. anymore info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks to all who have replied.

So you dont want to spend $60 in gas--just get the info off of someone that did spend $60 in gas--does that seem right?

There are fish on both ends. This time of year, you may need to burn some fuel to locate fish.

Jedi Ive done my fair share of running around on numerous lakes and given my reports so that everyone else can locate fish easier. Even if I do burn $60.00 in gas, or I dont, Ill tell everyone exactly what I did where I did it and how. If It doesent seem right to you that I ask for help and get info off someone then let me know how to go about it. Ive helped every one that has asked me for info and never had a problem with it. Sorry for any inconvience.
Michael thank you for the information. I understand the striper are always on the move and any info now will be very different in a week and a half. Sometimes Ive found that fish are only on one part of the lake and I didnt want to waste my time if all the fished are bunched up in one area of the lake. Now I know that there all over the lake so thanks for that tip, I should be able to locate some fish

Sorry if I came across a little harsh--just normally if you tell 1 person exactly where and how you caught fish there will be 20 people at that spot the next day. Better questions are how deep and what type of presentation--then you can use that info to find your own spots. People are more likely to give up that info than they are GPS cords.

If you read my questions I was looking to find out if the fish had setup on a section of the lake. Just wasnt sure if all the fish had moved north to get ready to spawn or if there still in a fall pattern down south. Wasnt looking for anyones specific spot or gps coords. As for yer last post I did ask what depth they were holding and presentation, live bait or lures. I didnt ask anyone for exact spots or exactly how they caught them, certain lures certain techniques,or gps coords,Just wanted a general idea of what the fish are doing

I think it is almost as fun finding the fish as it is catching em. Looking for em and not catching, not so much.

It's no secret that during most of the year on Granbury most of the action will be on the south end of the lake anywhere between Indian harbour and the dam. No sense in letting someone new who wants to give it a shot launch at hunter park or even 377 when alot of that water could be eliminated.
This time of year though it's not that simple. Some fish will be moving north but you will still find them on the south end as well. Mr. Acosta has posted bait and depths that are producing for him right now (as well as specific spots to look) in the threads I linked to. Plenty of info already out there. No need to be stingy w/ info.
