I'm pretty new on this forum bit I must first say to hello to anybody that fishes fayette. I love that lake. Also must say that it's not impossible to catch during the summer on fayette. I've caught double digit numbers at the discharge in 106 degree water. Heat is nothing for those fish. They have no choice. Caught 26 about a month ago, but that's the last time I've been

Thanks nspanntx ,but lets not forget that it is hard trusting anything on forum`s. But I give credit where credit is due. I learned from some of what I consider some great fisherman in my life. But you are right telling someone I`m calling you out is un called for.
Thanks for not throwing us under the bus.
Kevin and Sandy.

Water temperature today between 8am-1pm was between 84-87 degrees on the south side of the dam, the southern portions of the lake, and near the main lake point between the two boat ramps. Don't have the most expensive electronics, but that's what my depthfinder was reading.

Early morning surface temps in 3 fingers will not even be close to intake and discarge temps unless winds are helping push surface temps up across the lake, if the winds don't push the discharges across the lake, the temps aren't even close to actual discharge temps in the 3 fingers area.
The closer you get, the warmer the temps rise as you get near the intake and discharge.
Winds do play a big part keep surface temps down, and look at the picture and wind direction in relation to the plant.
Any rains during that time frame, a short rain on the lake will knock surface temps down greatly in short time as well.
68 degrees is very low considering night temps have not dropped much yet.

funny thing happend sunday, went to feyette and saw 4 boats fishing the pond dam at 7 am. the real funny part was they were all gone by nine and they missed out on an amazing topwater bite up next to the reeds. N2BASS i just want to say thank you for sharing because when i first started to fish feyette few people gave me advice so it took a little while to figure out the lake. hopefully i will see you out there one day, ill be the one in a ranger with the pretty wife in a bikini catching more than me!
WHY IS IT THE WIFE ALLWAYS CATCHES THE BIG ONE

Gibbons for our first time was not good. Out of the four of us in the boat my friend`s wife only caught a fresh water drum. I`m not real impressed with the lake but did not expect much for the first time. Too shallow for me and no structure and way too dangerous being so shallow and so many stumps Did not want to tear the boat up not knowing the lake. I had someone ask me if I was Kevin and said he had a friend on the phone and wondered if he had seen a red and white pro craft that fishes fayette a lot. I said yes. is that your friend?

Brandon the tank dam is good but their are a lot of other places we fish that hold fish. Just like Sunday we did not do good on any of our places and some did on theirs. I would be glad to try to explain to you all the places we have ,good or bad at any given time. I told my wife a long time ago that fishing is learning from others not only where to fish, what to use but being at the right place ,at the right time. E-mail and I will let you know what we use. Sometimes it works and sometimes it does not.

Yes, that would be my friend that spoke to you.
Gibbons is hard to fish. You have to know where the isolated main lake structure is. Between the two of us on Sunday we had 13 fish. The biggest one was a little over 4 pounds and most were 14 to 16 inches. The bigger one came off of a lone stump on Hog point.
It is no where close to Fayette for numbers. As far as large fish, a many of 10 to 11 pounders come from Gibbons.

That sounds great. Maybe sometime we could meet up with you on GIbbons and you show us what you know and another time we could meet up with you on Fayette and I will show you a few places that I know.

Just a heads up. The game warden was out at Fayette yesterday, jacking with quite a few people. ( me included) Make sure you have all of your safety equipment.
