Has anybody ever tried the Burger Box in Kennedale? I noticed it when I was driving out to that town pond to fish for trout this winter. Looks like it might be a good little local joint... I haven't been to that particular one, but the others I've been to are great!

Im not a Burger Box fan, but my friend, his brother and his parents eat at the Kennedale Burger Box several times a week so they must like it!

What about Griff's, on 377, or maybe it's Belknap by then. How's it?

WaterBurger makes a good burger IMO. Or Chesters in San Antonio.

Second the burgers at Bracken Cafe. Tickles me to see those guys stop their Santa Fe locomotive on the tracks and amble over for lunch.
But there are burgers and there are burgers. Will your favorite joint serve you one with medium rare meat? Probably not. As I understand it, the FDA food regs require the most inexpensive grades of ground beef to be served well done, due to the risk of e coli and whatnot. Ruby Tuesdays will serve it however you want it, on a custom bun, with vine-ripened tomatoes, and you can get a baked potato as a side, at no extra charge. They don't have the atmosphere, of course, of Bracken Cafe, but they serve a memorable burger.

If you've been around long enough, Texas Burger used to be an excellent burger. There used to be one in Lockhart, Bastrop and I believe Luling but they have since closed down. Now I'll drive from San Marcos to Rockdale just to get one (or five) when the mood strikes. There is also one in Palistine along highway 79 that I make sure to hit on the way to and from Shreveport. A couple of Texas Burgers and some blue bell ice cream and you won't care how the fishing was that day.

its not there anymore but there was a place just outside of lake worth called tommys. they had a "junkyard burger". there are not words to describe how heavenly this thing was. eating it was a spiritual experiance i think. extremely unhealthy but its one of those things that gives you an extra punch on your man card
