Love squirrels, best eating anywhere and heart healthy too!! Love too hunt them as well, either still hunting or with a dog. A good squirrel dog can run 3,000.00 plus.

Love Squirrel. Hunted them all the time in Kirbyville, Call and Bon Wier, TX of course. I'm 34 and we would hunt them in the early morning or in the evening never at night. How do you do that? Did plenty of rabbit and Coon hunting at night but never squirrel.

Try the Corps of Engineers lakes like Benbrook. You just have to go to The office by the damn and get a permit(free) and go hunting on federal land. You will need your hunters education permit and your huntin license. Buts its free even if you and your boys don't get anything you know they'll have a blast. Some of my best memories are squirrel huntin with my dad. And fried tree rat smothered in gravy over rice is some of the best eatin you'll ever have.
