I don't always catch fish, but when I do, I prefer Dos Hybrids

Hi Everyone:
Well fished this evening from 5:30 pm till 8:00pm. I tried several spot this evening. I saw one undersized Hybrid caought about 6pm which was short and glad to say it was released. Saw a couple of Sanbass on a strinder and decided the whole wasnt worth staying for. Then moved to second whole and saw another hybrid caught about 7Pm this fish was undersized but have no idea if it was released or not. Then about 10 minutes later saw one of those magnum Sandies caught. A few minutes after that saw another Sandy caught. So I was thinking okee here comes the fish then NOTHING. While I was walking to once of my wholes I saw maybe 6 fish in this one whole. But on Saturday the same whole I had saw over 100 fish in it. I did notice there was less flow of water tonight also. I hate to say it but I would have to agree with Tarponfly they are Done and GONE. Total Score for me 0 Fish but was very nice and relaxing after a LONG Day at WORK.

You can't bank fish the dam on Ray Hubbard anymore. Its all restricted area now. The only way to fish the dam is from the lake. You can fish near the dam tho if you go to the burned out bridge on Ray Hubbard Drive.

So that's why they took the dang thing down...It had been awhile since I had been that way ever since they stopped us from fishing the dam. I was trying t ocut through to a Crappie hole on the back side of Heath and the freking road/bridge was gone!!!
Anyway as far as the dam goes those were some awesome days,..lots of large Hybrids and Catfish dumped through there...after enough rain to open 4-5 of the gates.
Shame is,they still are going through there without anyone to catch them. You just don't get the numbers fishing it farther down by hwy..and Ive rarely ever caught anything there when the water wasn't up and moving.

I can't believe people would PM me over what any individual could see at the creek. Observation is half of fishing from the banks of anywhere. When 50 asians are throwing something from across the creek and over your shoulder right behind you, you tend to see what's catching what and what's not catching anything.

I thought everyone was ok with anyone catching fish on the creek, but now I see it's everyone for themselves.

Fished Hubbard last night along the rip raps on I-30 and Dalrock. Caught some nice LMBs and Drums. So if anyones looking for some action, you can bank fish there. food

Report
Went out to the firewheel bridge and fished the creek. Started at midnight till 1:30am. Fished from the main hole all the way up to 50 yards. No Hybrids but a few undersized sandies and yellows on minnows. Thats strike 2 for me on the creek. hmmm

I think this years anglers doubled, so its possible they are just fished out. Whites usually move in on 2 main factors; temperature and current flow. So if it rains in the next couple days, I think we should give it another try and start more downstream until we find them. 24 hours after the rain, im hoping our fishing holes become refilled with a fresh batch.

Until then im switching to Carp fishing.

I think you're right. I've been fishing the Rowlett Creek for about ten years now, and have never seen so many anglers in the past compare to this year. But, that's alright. We just want to fish for fun; so, I don't mind if there's a lot of people in the creek. However, I don't like the cast netters that are taking fish illegally. I got to fish about five times this year and caught about 25 total for the year. I'm very happy about that. bannana2

Wind from the north, fisherman does not go forth.
Wind from the south, blows the bait in the fish's mouth.
Wind from the east, the fish bite least.
Wind from the west, the fish bite best.

...now for a report
Hit the regular spot at 8am, tried to find you Jeff. Warmest morning I have fished this year. There was light rain falling off and on. Water a bit murky. Not as clear as past couple of days, could be the wind. Caught a couple undersized hybrids. 9 AM started hooking nice sandies on the retrieve to recast, while fishing minnows. So I started casting, then a slow, constant retrieve with live minnows perpendicular to the hole. Caught 12" sandies about every fifth cast. Had to go to work. Brought 10 home, left them biting.

Nightfisher- the second place we fished the other night.
