Went out last night for a couple of hours to gauge the fishes interest. Met up with the crazy gulf fisherman Baffinbay aka. Had the honor to fish next to him as he shared his intriguing fishing stories. Great guy to fish with.

Anyways... the fish did not want to bite, but the experience was no less compelling with the gloomy blue moon. Pressure was dropping too fast, which has major effects on the fish in the shallow creeks. Water temperature was still cold through out the day and got even colder at night. Fishing should start to pick up today or tommorrow.

Went this morning 7:45- 9:30. Wading the hole. 5 guys on the bank- NOTHING. Uverse was catching a few off the point, Yellows and kittys. Water clear, very light wind on the water- carp going nuts. Called on castnetters last night-those guys were moving around fast. Don't know what happened. Today should warm the water some. Hopefully the pressure will lock down.

I went yesterday..got the the usual hole..as soon as I started to wade out I look down and see a stringer...with about 8 or 9 sandies ALL undersized..I'm talking 7-8 inchers..PATHETIC..didnt know whos it was noone was close to it...There were 3 guys on the bank..they were hand tossing line out with about a 1 oz sinker..is that some kind of fishing technique?? They didnt have any poles just tossing line out and pulling it in with their hands...turns out the stringer was theres..I observed them catch 3 or 4 UNDERSIZED sandies and in the bucket they went...I didnt have my cell on me so I didnt call a GW...I managed one 9 " sandie and I knew it was undersized but I measured it anyways maybe 3 times in a row just so maybe those guys could see me measure him and get some kind of CLUE/HINT...My buddy was down by the pipe since he didnt bring his waders..he walked back down and I got out and told him outloud I got one UNDERSIZED fish and let him go..then I told the guy with the stringer.."Man those things are DINKS" but of course No Hable Engles..so I moved on down with my buddy to the bridge..he nailed a 12 " sandie then nothing else..we strung it up in hopes of atleast getting a few more keeprs since it was flat out dead yesterday..we then moved down and hit a few more holes by the gunrange..NOTHING...ran out of minnows b/c I only got a 1/4 lb...headed back to the bridge to cross back under and leave and managed another 7 or 8 " sandie on a road runner....Total count yesterday...5 sandies one being a keeper and a catfish..oh well I guess thats why they call it fishin' and not catchin'

"What your doing is illegal. I called the Game Warden. He's on they way" (show phone at this point)- always makes them run.

*** You do not want to drop your phone in the creek at anytime during this confrontation, it lessens the legitimacy of the prior statement.

Okay, I have two other ideas:

1. Take some old all terrain tires and fashion a mock 10ft alligator, with some sort of hydraulics to move the tail and mouth. Place "Alice" strategically near a well used netter hole and wait for her "prey" to arrive.

2. On a windless night, release CO2 along the creek banks, accompanined with an acoustical piece entitled "Cry of the Loon". If anyone has ever been on the water late at night, with a fog on the water and then heard a loon cry, you can almost feel the breath of a Sasquatch on your neck.

I was just thinking...

Please let me know when you do this. I will supply the CO2. Best idea posted yet.

Sorry to say but your posting was a total PAIN to read. I feel like I just dropped 50 points off my IQ.

Well
I am glad you understand...however nowhere did I say anything or mean to imply about killing or use that word anywhere I was more concerned for me and the young fathers safety I did mention.
I wasn't lying to the others or being a bully, never liked the bully or coward type sure wouldn't want to be confused as one.

Oh and sorry your I.Q is now in the negative... but you are young and you'll recover from it....duel

Seriously.... if I came off a bit strong I sorry, but as long as no one jacks with the kids and old folk of which I get closer to being and on the cantankerous side some days!

anyone fish the Lake Ray Hubbard Dam bank fishing? All the roads look like they are blocked off leading to it. Any directions on how to get there would be appreciated

You can't bank fish the dam on Ray Hubbard anymore. Its all restricted area now. The only way to fish the dam is from the lake. You can fish near the dam tho if you go to the burned out bridge on Ray Hubbard Drive.
