A couple different seagulls out at Lewisville. I will never try to get the hook out of one of those again. They are mean, and pecked the carp out of me.
My best "accident" was about a three pound Lobster off the coast of Massachusets on cut mackerel. What a great breakfast he made. Bacon, eggs, and boiled lobster.

Hooking a fish is like playing string with a cat. The exact size, shape, color of string matters less than how you wiggle it- and little cats are easier to fool than big ones. John Gierach

You ever heard of coyote fishing? Well, down here in CC, TX, when the fishing is bad or they get to numerous; we like to do a little of this adreniline rushing sport.
Catching a yote by rod and reel is like nothing you have ever done before.
Equipment includes; surf rod and reel, heavy braided line, wire leader, large circle hook, a shotgun, case of beer/liquor, and a big piece of protien (live kitten works best).
Just hook the bait on and drop it off a couple hundred yards behind the sand dunes in an isolated area (PINS is the best spot)
You will need that beer because it may take a while. Twitch rod every so often. Once hooked, hang on. After an hour or so, your catch will begin to tire and you can start to bring him in. However, the tricky part happens once the yote is over the dunes and sees that he is done for. At this time, he will charge dead ahead and try to fight for his life. This is when the shotgun comes in handy. Make sure that you dont miss. The last guy that did never came home.
You are allowed 2 coyotes a year. Just ask your local sporting goods store for the appropriate stamps. Cost of the stamp is about $30. There is a local guy that will give you a great mount.
In case you are wondering, I am completly making this up. I just wanted to see if you would read this. I bet half of you got pumped up and the other half is sickened. For the record, I would never do anything like this and think that it would be cruel. I dont even shoot coyotes at the ranch. Gotcha, ha ha!!

I had fished at the tank in front of the house and was getting rods & tackle out of the boat when one of my wife's 600# heifers munched on a spinning bait on a rod and hooked herself in the lip. Had to put her in the chute and get the hook out. Wife did not approve of fishing for her cows.

4 ft gator. Actually went to the trouble of putting it in the boat and taking the hook out by hand. Have to admit I caught it on purpose with a T-rig worm just to see if I could. I tried larger ones but they would break off or straighten the hook. 30 years later probably would be a bit more careful!! Big snapping turtles usually snagged with a crankbait. Had a big duck eat a Rebel crankbait while I picked out a backlash. I was able to get it out and we both survived!

I've hooked gators twice. The biggest was over 8'. Both were caught in Taylors Bayou near Port Arthur. I fought the smaller one (4') to the bank thinking I could handle it on the shore (yeah, I was a teen). When I got it on the bank, it came running after me. Scared the dog out of me. I've also caught several cormorants at Rayburn. They all died....hehehe....can't stand them eating our bass....and they do...
My wife hooked a 275 lb Cuban once....hehehe....

In case you are wondering, I am completly making this up. I thought from the beginning that it wasn't true, but I read the whole thing anyway--it was a good read!

A friend on mine's dad fliped under a dock on cedar creek and got bit set the hook and was hung, he would let some slack in line and could still feel the fish on.
Trolled over to the dock and followed his line down he came up with a fish box that had a 6# catfish in it, his worm had went into the basket and the catfish bit it, what a story, but swears it is true.
