... Could you clarify ‘’our water’’, what water is yours?
Sure... It's a lot like Woody Guthrie's song, This land is your land, this land is MY land... As taxpayers we all pay for the upkeep of OUR natural resources, waters and land... Dan According to strugglebus, this makes you insecure…Dan

Here is the full/whole/truthful story....
A college team fished the college event on Rayburn. On the second day, one of the kid's dad (who owns the boat) wanted to see how the new intake on the boat performed. The dad and the college kid's brother (also boat owners son) jumped in the boat to take it for a spin. When they were coming in, the spring on the hot foot broke and he had to swerve to avoid hitting other boat(s). When he did, the boat hooked and threw them out. It then went up on the bank hitting that pile. The dad has a broken leg and was Life Flighted from the pavilion. His son, who was in the boat with him, was taken by ambulance to a local hospital where the stayed overnight to be checked out. He was just banged up.
It was a Bullet 21XRS with a 250 Merc on it. It obviously had a modified intake on it so I would assume it probably had modifications to the lower unit, prop, etc.
It was something that could have happened to any of us but a lot of us old dudes wouldn't be going WOT in such a speed boat and the consequences wouldn't be quite so extreme. So a bit different than what the mother posted earlier... Same as the Rattlesnake Island wreck a few months back with the wife posting a different account of what happened (assumingly due to insurance concerns). I suppose an insurance company could and would deny coverage due to unknown performance enhancements? Not sure.

Depends on how much the medical bills and getting the boat seaworthy... A lot may depend if he declared if the boat was being used in tournaments... Some policies, this is a big NO, NO... Dan

I read an eyewitness account that he was hauling [censored] and hit a wake that threw him left and into the bank. That makes more sense then the story around the spring breaking and him losing it because he was trying to avoid other boats.

That’s terrible. High speed and no control, hopefully everyone survives.
