Just talked to the SRA. The draw down is to repair the dam, as told in the press release. https://www.sratx.org/press-release-lake-fork-reservoir-soil-cement-repairs/

The ramp at the park is already complete and was slid in the same way almost every other ramp is built.

Also, SRA does not receive funding from local taxes. Taxes go to the county, not the SRA. All of their funding is from water sales. Period.

So the marina owner saying that the "SRA took our money to build a park and now are going to hurt our ability to make money" is simply wrong. It's made up or misinformed information.

Pick up the phone and call them for yourselves.

Now here's the part where you reply and call the SRA liars and claim that your mysterious nameless friends are the truthtellers!

Hey I know when I call a state government agency they gladly tell me all about their shenanigans 🙄

I don't think you can see as well from Turtle creek as I can from Fork

What “problem” are you speaking of. Are you angry?

I recall the days when we were predicting what day she would reach full pool after the drought. It’s going to take a couple years for the lake to come back in my opinion.

Takes awhile,..they still have to provide water to the downstream areas. Couple years at least, depending on the weather.

Looks like today they just reached -6 feet. Should be closing the gates and starting work soon ??

The sheer amount of people freaking 9ut on social media over this is wild. Many seem to think all the fish are gonna die off and the whole lake will dry up.

There will always be "chicken little's",..... I like the fact that the bare coastline will get a nice new vegetation coverage.
I remember fishing the lake last time after the droughts,..brush and little trees were everywhere, flukes and spinner baits were deadly,
catching a LOT of bass. fish

Yes sir it was great. Also the couple of years after it fills up with that vegetation will be some great spawns which will help the longtermhealth of the lake.

Went yesterday after procrastinating about getting out of bed. Got on the water about 9:30 and headed west, wanted to look at some old spots up Garret creek, Spend 2 hours up there, liked what I saw on the side and down imaging, but no bites. Came back to a mid lake creek at noon and caught 2 small keepers and a small slot in an hour, on a DT 6 crank baits. Headed to the ramp and was heading home by 1:30.
Water temps were 63 in both areas.
HWY 17 ramp was okay.

OH,....How's the Bass Fishing ?? Most Fork bass fishermen won't post their fishing adventures on here. Some kind of code of
secrecy or honor. Some may give you generics, or may send you a PM if they think you are struggling a little. If you want to see
some of the Fork fishing, you can find some of the bass guides Facebook page, and sometimes you can get a feel how the lake is fishing..you might get water temps, or general tips and location but not much more. Be careful out there right now, even the locals
are slowing down a little...enjoy.
