Oh heavens no tsunami....Oklahoma don't want nothing to do with you heathen, evil doers down there. Why the mere thought of you Texans rampaging thru the towns and salons and casinos up here is a horrifying thought...:) Why the wimmen folk would be in terror, the fish would be in hiding, and well we'll not even speak about the horrors the local BBQ establishments might endure...:) I don't think the Okie women folk have much to fear. From I hear they are 12 packs or better. Oklahoma won't even sell us their water I don't think they are going to let us hook up to their grid.

To be fair to ERCOT, it is June in Texas, and this heat could have in no way been predicted.
I was worried, but after reading the article I’m much more optimistic. Woody Rickerson, ERCOT vice president of grid planning and operations said the grid operator would conduct an analysis to determine why so many units are offline this week.Probably an MBA and will provide colorful charts. They probably need to form a committee and pay everyone on that committee $350K per year to find out what we all know. You can't shut down a power plant of any type without having built one to replace it.

Our new President has shut down the gas pipeline and wants all vehicles to be electric. And where are we suppose to get the power to charge those batteries. No gas oil or coal powered power plants. Highest gas prices in years and no telling where that will increase to.!!!!!!! He isn't taking any blame in the press. They are still blaming Trump for everything. Hope you aren't the ones that voted for him. If so you are getting what you voted for.

Not gonna blame the wind turbines being frozen and solar panels this time, huh??? They will have some "Green" excuse to blame it on.

Well I’ll be who would’ve thought decommissioned coal plant would cause so many problems. Guess those wind mills don’t work if the wind don’t blow lol. Green energy equals no energy. Coal is the best bang for the buck if you don’t like it wear a respirator especially all the dumbocrats They seem to like masks.

Just now from twitter Shelby Webb@shelbywebb The price per megawatt hour in Houston just shot up from about $85 to $1,000 in a span of about five or 10 minutes. ERCOT's operating reserves are right at it's 3,000 megawatt threshold, which triggers a control room advisory if it's not expected to improve in 30 minutes

Somebody please educate me on this electricity bs. I have lived in Tx all my life (other than being in misery in Memphis for 6 months) and I have never heard of any such of these rolling black outs in 55 yrs other than the last big winter storm.... What in the hell has changed since 1965 - 2020?

Obama's Epa made it impossible for coal plants to continue to make a profit. Monticello, fairfield and several other plants closed. Now we have windmills but they don't always turn and now we are here.

What in the hell has changed since 1965 - 2020? Explosive population growth and not enough energy generation plants being built to keep up....larger houses, more technology, all require more energy...We need to either build a few more nuclear plants or about 10 natural gas plants....this year.

Would be nice to add some hydroelectric too at the many dams that Texas has. Of course, the population growth is putting a pinch on the water too. I remember that being a bigger problem for San Antonio when I lived there.
