They issued an energy conservation notice through Friday evening because there may be rolling blackouts due to several plants being offline for repairs and high temperatures.

Listen! Who would ever think it’s going to get hot in Texas in mid June. Must be the global warming.

Get ready for Hell. They just gave the early warning so they can say I told you so.

To be fair to ERCOT, it is June in Texas, and this heat could have in no way been predicted.

I was worried, but after reading the article I’m much more optimistic.

Woody Rickerson, ERCOT vice president of grid planning and operations said the grid operator would conduct an analysis to determine why so many units are offline this week.

I’m thinking that will fix it. Maybe a safety meeting and then the analysis stuff.

I'm sure that was said with tongue planted firmly in cheek.

Wait until they close the rest of the coal plants. This is only going to get worse.

Nothing happens without a goal. This is to get Texas onto a national grid.

Maybe we could put signs at all entry points that say"We are out of electricity,so go settle elsewhere."

It is for sure to get Texas to "Bend the knee" to the Emperor, aka the Feds, and stop making the other States look bad. thumb

Yeah, it couldn't be incompetent management / oversight of ERCOT by Texas Govt officials. Select industry cronies to sit on ERCOT and this is what you get. It's intended put up a façade of legitimacy. I'm sure there will be some kind of empty legislation that gets signed that will fix this problem, too.

How many people will die this summer?

Create a shortage, jack up the price?

Think we went through that playbook 20 years ago and it didn't work out too well.

What a maroon!

Yep. Due to the mass exodus of people from the Peoples Republik of Kalifornicate fleeing to Texas, we now must act like Kalifornicators to make them feel welcome. Next will be mudslides, massive fires, drought, and locusts. The green new deal is awesome.
