Things are looking great. It's got to slow or fall soon????? What says the OT investment gurus? I think it’s awesome but BillyVanWard would probably consider that weak. His return rates have eclipsed that for decades. He picks nothing but winners.

I have that return as well but everyone has to understand how deep that hole was we just came out of. I’m just thankful I had the courage to stick it out. I’m trying to take it slow for now meaning if something happens to start a decline I’m bailing out. For now it looks semi safe.... I hope...

The returns being mentioned are mostly due to the market being way down on March 31 last year - and the market steadily increasing ever since.
JR Yes and no. Even with the dip last year, the trend has been up for awhile. Just like after the 2007/2008 collapse. There is always a nice rebound, but it's the trend that matters for long term, like Retirement Accounts. Mine is only up 53% for the past 52 weeks, but is up 157% for the past 5 years.
May you be treated the way you treat other people, today and everyday!

Quit trying to time things, if you buy today you will pay less taxes tomorrow. If we lose 10% a day for the next month, you are buying new shares at a discount. The secret is to keep buying and never sell.
VTI and chill.

JR Right, it's all about frame of reference. If you stretch it out to 18 months, the numbers are much lower. Or if you take the last 4 months since the market hasn't done a ton since January. But everything shot up from April to December of last year...only because it dropped like a rock in March.

Things are looking great. It's got to slow or fall soon????? What says the OT investment gurus? With a rate of return like that I would be extremely nervous waiting for the fall. It's like an oil boom. There will be a bust.

I would be curious to see how low the Covid dip took those accounts that are showing a 50% + rate of return. I'm thinking they got hit pretty hard early last year. My retirement showed a 35% rate of return for the last 12 months, but almost all of it was during the 3rd and 4th quarters of 2020. For the last 3 months the rate is 2.36%.
