Only BBq sauce my wife has ever ate with any big amount is Sweet Baby Rays Brown Sugar Looks like we have a consensus on BBQ sauce for the wife. It's the only sauce my wife will eat. I hate it way to sweet and thick.

If you know how to cook the meat correctly, why do you need a sauce? I really like grilled chicken or pork steaks with some sauce caramelized on it. Sometimes I get a hankering for it, sometimes it’s just to change things up...it’s a want, not a need.

I've been making this for years. You can adjust the ingredients a little to suite your liking.... More/less spicy or more/less sweet depending on what I am cooking or who I am cooking for.
1 cup ketchup 1/2 cup vinegar 1 cup spicy brown mustard 1 cup brown sugar 1/2 cup honey 1/2 cup apricot preserves 2 tsp black pepper 1 tsp onion powder 3 tsp chili powder 1 tsp cayenne pepper
Mix all ingredients in a pot and simmer for about 5 minutes or so. Stir very often so you dont burn it. Strain and enjoy!
