I slaugher them with this setup. Snelled hook, weightless, weed guard, and worm rattle. I don't like thin wire hooks or any hook smaller than that size there because 8+ pounders would bend them with ease when they run -- mostly because I don't like a loose drag setting. No loose drag here and no bent hooks. Senko in 6' rigged like that. 8# My son!

I love the strike king ochos, they are a tiny bit tougher than a sinko, but not much. They seem to have a better shimmy on the fall, and they have better colors. http://amzn.to/2neG2mlhttp://bit.ly/gmglckWith this hook, weightless! Killer!

New to fishing Senkos as well. Good info here. I will have to try that wacky weedless rig and give those Strike King Ochos a look.

Only Wacky Hooks I have. Like that you can run the line thru the tube on the back and dropshot them too.

As the title says, I've never really used them, How do you fish them, trig, wacky style, etc.
I hear they are great, just thought I'd see what the forum says.. Fish em any way you would fish a worm.

Carolina rigged😎 Yep 20+ pound sacks off of em, all one color! Dad throws it weightless when the bite is tough and usually puts a keeper in the boat!

I only fish it on a wacky jig but it's always on deck. If I'm t-rigging I have more confidence in other baits.

I could be wrong but I see allot of people confusing Texas rigging with how soft plastics are weedless rigged on the hook. From what I have been taught, a Texas rig is a hook with a weight on the line above the eye (pegged or not) that keeps the bait in contact the water bottom. Texas rigging has nothing to do with how the soft plastic is rigged to the hook. A Texas rig can be rigged weedless but it can not be rigged weightless. A weedless rigged soft plastic can be rigged weightless.
I have had most of my Senko catch's on a weedless Texas rig or a weightless weedless rig. I don't have much experience with wacky rigs or Carolina rigs, But I do hear that a weightless wacky rig catches allot of fish. Texas rigged "weightless" means just that. The hook is placed into the worm just like you would a standard Tx. rig and when the wording "weightless" is added to the description, that means the weight is left out of the rig, thus you get the terminology...Tx. rigged weightless. Simple as that.

Wacky, they cant stand that neutral buoyancy!! Son caught a 3 and two 5s from the local ponds here yesterday. Watermelon blk flake. I am on the Grande pocket rockets now, but I always have these, they can catch them when others cant. Grande Bass baits makes the Snake-O Reaction Innovations makes the pocket rocket. Both baits work well.

[quote=Nick From Minnesota]I heard everyone talking about green colors (or shades of green). Anyone ever catch anything on a Black/Blue senko or darker colors?
Black/blue flake is my 'go to' Senko color everywher I fish, no matter whether the water is dirty or gin-clear...always weightess wacky-rigged. Only Yamamoto or do you throw other brands too? I fish a select few of the Yamamoto Senkos because of a certain color they make that the other brands do not have. For me the "Senko" doesn't out fish a Yum Dinger and the Dinger lasts much longer.

Always try different methods of retrieval. I have had a lot of luck popping them like a top water frog across weed beds. I do like the wacky set up with the rattle, but how do you attach the rattle?

UPDATE: I tried em' out this Weekend on Lavon, caught a few on o-ring wacky rigged in the brush near riprap.
Just like everyone keeps saying; throw it out, let it sink on slack line, let it sit as long as you can stand it, then lift to feel for fish, all the time watching your line.. pretty cool, will definitely be part of my arsenal from now on..
