I am more addicted to fishing Senko's than a drug addict is to smoking crack !!!!
I have about 50 different colors and always end up throwing one of the " green " colors .
Nobody mentioned the " Neko " rig , just another way to feed those finicky bass .
I even use a weightless , wacky Senko in water as deep as 30-35 feet on rock piles . In the wintertime , they love it this way . Takes forever to let one sink that deep , but man does it work .

Have a buddy that fished with Gary Yamamoto right after he started selling senkos and told Gary he liked the bait but they cost too much, Gary asked him if they catch fish and he responded yes and Gary said so what's the problem. fish

how do you snell knot that hook?

Something similar to the video below. I have my own way of tying but the result is identical. I like that type of snelling because everything is underneath the wraps and the knot looks nicer than other methods.

I heard everyone talking about green colors (or shades of green). Anyone ever catch anything on a Black/Blue senko or darker colors?

Also, anyone ever use the Gamakatsu Wicked Wacky hook?

I use watermelon red for sunny days, june bug (or something similar) for cloudy, and bubble gum or white for muddy water. I feel like I can cover all the bases with those colors.

And that is the exact hook I have been looking for! I really like the idea of a wide gap hook for this application. But I get 99% of my tackle at Academy, and they don't sell them. So I may have to start using Tackle Warehouse!

Glad I could help! What size would you use if you did have some of these?

I put the Senko in the top 10 baits of all time. I usually use it weightless and hooked TRig style through the nose and back around into body. Every now and then I put it on a C-Rig. They have this wobbling action when they sink like no other bait out there. Plus, Senkos taste like French fries and I think bass love the salt taste as well and won't spit them out. They are expensive and they tear up easier than some baits but they catch fish.

PBs

LMB- 11 lbs., 7 oz. Falcon

Striper- 40 lb. Long Is. Sound
BlueCat- 30 lb. Texoma
Hybrid-8.2 lb. Lewisville
Cutthroat Trout-22" Yellowstone R, WY
Rainbow Trout- 21" Blitzen R, OR
Steelhead- 8 lb. Umpqua R, OR
Redfish-20 lb. Panama C. Bay, FL

I like a larger hook so they hold up to the big girls. Also makes it easier to get them out, esp when they take it deep in their mouth like they tend to do with a wacky rig. I would need to see them irl to be sure, but it would definitely be on the bigger end of the spectrum.

Black/blue flake is my 'go to' Senko color everywher I fish, no matter whether the water is dirty or gin-clear...always weightess wacky-rigged.

Only Yamamoto or do you throw other brands too?

Yup, its a deadly setup. Landed 21 by noon today before the storm front rolls in and makes it too windy to fish from a kayak. Released 6 undersized ones early and stringer the rest 15"-18" for the weight in tally before they earn their freedom. The worm O-Ring also does its job nicely, all 21 were caught with the same senko and I still have it. They are all acrobatic jumpers today so it was really fun.
