There's a cat on this forum name BankfishinDave (i.e. the "real" Bankfisher) that has a habit of catching nice fish at this time of year from the Bank. Here are some of his summertime posts from past years:

i read most of his posts. very impressive. i can tell he is very hard fisherman. no pain no gain. he deserves trophy size fish when you work for them that hard. i don't work for them that hard, so i set my low expectation.

Lou, just from his signature pics, and from the few posts I read by him, a real humble gentleman, a quality of seasoned fishermen that I learned to recognize as good fishermen for the last 40 years of my fishing life... Below is what I wrote in the Legends (sic) in Catfishing in Texas threaf.

One day haft of the people who read this will forget how to fish without their on board fancy electronics, etc. ... I don't know any person mentioned except Mr Kennedy, but can think of at least one fisherman who will always able to
summoned the big cats to meet him at the bank - BankFishinDave.

Why do I go fishing? To catch a box of fish and/or some quality time under the sun. Thank Heaven I never fail fishing in Texas, catching box fish or plenty of sunburn.

Huh? LOL
Thanks fellows. Bank catfishing to me is like so many other things in life . You get out of it what you put into it. At times it can be a lot of work
with the throwing for bait , hiking into spots carrying your gear , dealing with the weather, etc. but the rewards can be great. As ol' Lou says all the time "I'm gonna get some fresh bait, pick out a decent spot and take my chances" . Some great advice there. These forums have tons of great info about seasonal catfish behavior, structure to look for, bait, reels , gear , rigs etc.etc. It's good to take the given data and put it to work. Put that together with some time on the bank/ time on the water and the fish will show up if we keep showing up .

Cat Whisperer from the bank, yep thumb Fishing all day and all night, if you are up to the challenge is a great way to learn fish foraging patterns from the bank. Like Dave said lots of info on here on structures, seasonal patterns, etc., take all those info and choose a good spot then commit yourself... "if you spend enough time on the bank the fish will start to show up." Words of wisdom right there.
