I've never once entered a tournament and worried about who else was fishing it. how about a series?

It doesn't make a difference to me. I've fished trails with and without guide rules. I just don't worry about what anyone else is doing and focus on fishing.

thanks! we were just fun fishing and it worked out, only about my 6th day on lake this year and Ron's first tournament. I told him MOST tournaments don't expect to get paid.

We fished it and place 3rd. Yes, there were 37 Teams. But, it only paid $2100 for 1st Place & $350 for Big Bass.

I do have a question on measuring unders. I know you flatten the fish, check both sides taking best side, and fan the tail every which way to measure an over. However, I didn't know you do everything you can to make an under hit the line? I guess I'm use to FLW where they put on the board fan tail a little and that's it. I had a 15 7/8th on my two boards, but if you spent a minute on it doing everything you could it sure was closer. Well, even if it touched we would have lost our weight, but wouldn't have been a ticket.

You do the same for an under as you would trying to measure a close over/slot. Just a friendly suggestion....re-check close fish a few times during the day and definitely before weigh in. Especially during the summer months when you have cool and treated wells.

this is the reason that this trail only draws 26 boats on fork in April
What a joke
It's not like we are talking about weekend guides, if you google the name of these folks you will find their website "lake fork guide" They drew 64 in march. If you think someone is breaking a rule protest it. The guides that are fishing have followed the rules as they are written or they wouldn't be there.

I just question if there is a different rule about guides that Media has that is an exception to rule #17 of the rules they have posted on their website. If I missed a rule or there is an exception to this rule, is posted somewhere the general public can view? Thanks

17. Fishing Guides who have guided for black bass on tournament lake during two-months (60 days) prior to tournament and Anglers who participate in a National Circuit and have winnings of $50,000.00 or more during the previous calendar year will not be eligible to compete, unless said person has fished in the preceding tournament of same division. Championships are considered the final event in each division.
It clearly says if they have fished in the preceding tournament they can fish. So whats the question or who do you think is breaking a rule?

I didn't say anyone broke a rule, I was simply asking if guides are permitted. I guess I didn't understand the rule, but now I see if they continue to fish they will always be allowed. So as long as they continue to fish the trail, they are elidgeible? I emailed Media a few days ago and never got an answer, thanks for clearing it up. thanks

So if they don't guide January and February until the first tournament there good. Right. Or if they fish the preceding tournament. Right. What if they guide and miss a tournament. Does that mean they can't fish anymore tournaments in that division for the year. I'm confused . .
