Plus, think how far technology has come in that time. We had a lot of fun when SI and DI came out.

My opinion was the opposite of Guy's. I joined the forum just a short while after him, but disliked it enough that I stayed away so many years that I lost my login info and couldn't recover it, so had to create a new account when I came back in 2010.

sept 2001 and most agree it is not the same as it used to be.Cant quite pin it down but i think it is a little of a lot of things.Carl Ellis hit it pretty close to the way I feel. Dont get me wrong, it isnt bad.

Agree that some post are fluff.... I am willing to share data and the only lake I fish is Palestine.
Using the site for a while...this is really great to share fishing ideas and success with others.

11/07. gettin close to 8yrs. My thoughts are pretty much the same as all of the 'old timers' who don't post anymore.

Going on 11 yrs. and you can tell that I look more than I post. I have learned a lot but miss the "old" posters. I know that a lot of them quit posting because a simple post ended up being a great debate and bickering. I have also met a lot of good folks on here.

From the first day.
When the forum started most of the members were novice crappie anglers compared with today. So much has been written many times and the members are much more knowledgeable now that we old timers don't have as much new stuff to share.
Todays crappie anglers can get video's and info on youtube and TV that wasn't available 12 years ago.
The forum is still a great place to visit in my opinion.

Been here a while. I think there's more reluctance to share info now for a number of reasons. A number of posters in years gone by don't like posting on here anymore. There will always be change, but honestly the exchange of good info is pretty small. Very few threads with any worthwhile info any longer. Yep it's not what it was... I miss the jig wars the most...

Looks like going on 10 years now.
Like others have said, back when I started we had a lot more input from the old pros like Ernest, Guy, Duck Jerkey, Chuck and others and I miss that a lot. They were all great mentors and have done so much for our hobby/sport/addition.

In my opinion, Mr. Greeson has done a great job with the TFF. There have been many imitators and they just fall by the wayside. Soon the Forum will have reached 100,000 members and that is quite an accomplishment.
Before the Forum I would fish out on Lewisville and not know a single other fisherman. Now I at least recognize most fisherman out there. I have read it every day since joining and still enjoy every minute of it.
