To me, the threads and posts used to have more value in them. There was more focus on tips, tactics and techniques. But you also had a higher ratio of guides-to-members posting until a few years ago.
There were always the threads with questions about rods, reels, line and lures. Members have brought those up for as long as I've been on here.
There's still some value in this section, not as much as before, but now there's also a fair amount of clowning.

12 for me. The main change I see (and it's not nearly as bad on the crappie forum) is a lot more folks who take a serious question and want to crack wise about it. On the other hand, there are a lot more members now so a bigger pool to gain information and share ideas with. One of the biggest changes has been the jig tying section. Where guys used to show off a jig now and then, now a lot of folks have been able to draw from a huge wealth of talent and learn a great hobby.

Been here a while. I think there's more reluctance to share info now for a number of reasons. A number of posters in years gone by don't like posting on here anymore. There will always be change, but honestly the exchange of good info is pretty small. Very few threads with any worthwhile info any longer.

Probably because there used to be some really good discussions about actually catching crappie. Now it's mostly inane banter. Not that there's anything wrong with that in certain forums like the OT but it says Crappie Fishing and not BS Fishing which is what's different now.

I think a very small part for the people that have been here a while is that there was SOOOOOO much good info that was here in the beginning that a lot of stuff has already been covered yet we're all eager for more.
