Re: Bolivar/Galveston shore fishing suggestions

Use a hose or take a shower with your gear, LOL. That's what I do.
I think the best rigging is already suggested utilizing 1 combo with a popping cork and another with a carolina rig.
Also, do not hesitate to ask a local bait/tackle shop employees or even customers. Some of the best advice I have ever received was from 2 older fellows drinking coffee and smoking cigs in front of the bait store.

Remember the old days when you could cast a worm with a 1/4 ounce weight and it would lift up and arc over and down and land on a target sixty feet away with little thumb pressure needed? Why don't they make reels like that anymore? Or maybe I'm just too old and uncoordinated now. For the past few days it's been me against the rod and reel more than the fish.

Re: Tires

Get a set of car tires, cheaper and will last longer. No way I would run P rated tires on my boat trailer. I do run them on a utility trailer is that light and only carries a smallish ATV. Look at all the boats that have trailers with 17" or 18" wheels. They all run car tires. Heck, even BassCat uses car tires on their standard wheels. Never heard of wheels that big on a boat trailer. Has the low profile trend also hit boat trailers? About 10 years ago

Re: Trailer tongue hinge question

From what I have always been told, safety chains are supposed to prevent a trailer from hitting the ground in the event of the hitch failing. That is also why they need to be crossed. That is the way I have always installed them but thankfully I have never has one come loose from the hitch. Now do you “cross” the safety cables when they both start at the same spot under the trailer tongue?

Probably the nicest guy on the elites. Well deserved. Even if he doesn't make the cut he stays until the final day and watches weigh in and congratulates the winners. Dude is a class act and gives me a little hope for the future of the sport verses all the other clowns. Glad he won.
