I was looking at Google maps and saw a spot at the end os Wilson Cut that looked like youy could put a boat in there and head straight for Shamrock Bay. Any one ever do that? I am looking for a shorter trip to get to shamrock bay.

I was there a year or so back and there were a couple of boat trailers parked there. A game warden put his boat in while I was there.

Used to put in there 30 yrs ago, dirt "ramp" as i remember. Did ok for smaller lighter skiffs , jon boats and such. Was subject to being rutted when abused when ground was wet but never remember it being unusable. Sure don't remember it being anything I would try for a 25ft boat with triple axle trailer. And great access to Shamrock.

It's mostly a launch point for kayakers these days.

Yes, you can do that. The entry is a little trecherous and sandy though. Take the entrance that's about 200 yards south of the cut and then makes a turn back to the cut...it's harder packed sand.
