This statement is TOTAL NONSENSE.

I have a cat and love it. I have also ridden in a Triton and it is nice. The Triton has a little wider front deck. As far as a deck extension, I took a 3/4" piece of plywood and cut it to fit then doubled it so it is 1 1/2" thick. Glued and screwed them together and covered with 3 coats of marine polyurethane then carpeted. On the underneath side I velcroed to flat surfaces of the boat. Much larger deck now and a big storage space underneath. Another option is to have a deck extension made to fit. There is a company in Arkansas that makes the Bass Cat decks and they will make one with lids and a front on it, out of aluminum, for about $260. If you want their phone number just pm me. Good luck!

Triton. There is a reason that you see so many Tritons and only one or two bass cats at the lake at any given time. You get so much more for your money. They have both been around forever so don't start making your basscat excuses.

Not at Lake Fork. WAY more Bass Cats on Fork than Tritons.

I'm just glad he didn't ask about a Skeeter. My take is they are both good boats. The basscat will be faster but has a small front deck. Triton will have a bigger front deck and probably a little more storage. Both should have good resale.

Between those two, Basscat. Although, if you're in 18ft. class market go look at a Phoenix 618, you'll like what you see. Best of luck.

Big L I'll take you for a demo in my Sabre FTD if you haven't been in one yet. You need to go through the compartments, run the troller, etc. While we're doing that I will tell you a couple stories about BCB's awesome customer service and that will seal the deal for you.

I would say nobody but you can make that call, both are good boats. I will say I had and 18 ft triton and was happy with it. It would run about 62 mph and had plenty of storage. Ride was pretty good, it would chime walk some, but you could adjust the trim and smooth it right back out.

Saw twice as many cats at Rayburn last weekend as Tritons. In my opinion, we tend to notice the same boats we own more so than others.

Not sure what lakes you fish, but I have never once counted more Tritons on the lake, than BassCats.
And this includes every lake I ever been on.
Plus, the farther east you go, the more Cats you see.
This is an honest observation.

I can't honestly say I've ever seen more Bass Cats than Tritons. I think TexBbq is right: you notice your brand more than the others.
