I've got a 17-year-old Triton that's never had any serious problems. Very good boat.
It's not the smoothest boat in rough water (only a 17-footer), but it's pretty fast, extremely stable while fishing, good deck layout and has held up very well after being bumped against about a billion stumps. Small fit & finish components have held up very well. No issues with console switches, lids, latches, pumps/hoses, etc. Not sure what more you could really want. $3k extra cash could pay for more than a half dozen guide trips, a lot of tackle, a vacation, etc.

A true buyer wont have any difficulty getting a demo ride in either brand. Judge performance, layout and quality at this time vs cost and dealer support, base your decision on that.

Bass Cat for sure I wouldn't trade my old Skeeter even up for a new or old Triton. Obviously you have not been in a Triton for awhile, they are the total package.

Drive both if you can and decide. My bet is you come home with the Triton

Look at the Pantera or a P2 they are a little more $$$ but nice rides. I don't know what your budget is but a lot of used cats for sale on www.basscat.com +1 Check out the Pantera Classic! Great boat, affordable, very fast.

Had a 2010 Sabre w/etec 150. Etecs get a bad rap but mine was good to me. 350 hours and no issues. She Ran 65-66mph with 3/4 tank of gas and full gear. Get a flippin deck for added deck room. Never had a problem with that boat. Recommend highly. That being said, never rode in a Triton!

Basscat hands down. I agree with Grant and would give the P2 a look. I just got a new 13' in Feb and it is an awesome 19ftr.
I came out of a Ranger Z118 and that is a awesome boat in the 18' class at 18' 8".
Good luck in your search!!

The Tritons of today are one of the smoothest and fastest riding boats out there.

The Tritons of today are one of the smoothest and fastest riding boats out there. And the Pantera Classic and II are two of the roughest riding boats out there.
