I had the same problem. Solution, spool like you would a baitcaster. When you get to the lake tie on a worm with a 3/8 oz weight, start your boat and give it a little throttle (like trolling) and let nearly all of the line out. This will remove all of the line twist. Works for me.

I would check the bearing on the line roller or assist or whatever you call it on the bail. Might have an issue there causeing it to twist instead rolling while retrieving.

I use spinning reels a lot and katjim is dead on...I bought one of those Sahara reels a while back as a test replacement reel to see if I wanted to swap all of my spinning rigs over and promptly took it back to bass pro for a refund it was priced right and was real smooth like you would expect from Shimano...but excessive twisting seems to be inherent to that model of Shimano reel, I then bought a Stradic C14FA and that problem went away...not saying that you wont still have line twist webbing but it will be way-way less...just my two cents...good luck !

I shouldn't have read this post! Just last weekend I switched out my Okuma spinning outfit from 12 lb nano to 10 lb mono and am nervous its going to give me trouble. The nano had been on for about a year and was beginning to get the line twist. I am afraid its just an inherent thing with the light finesse-y type stuff we use these outfits for...

Lol...inherent...yes spinning reels have line twist built into them for sure, the roller bearing on the bail does help reduce it...so does not reeling agains the drag, I have never used braid on a spinning rig I've always used mono and I change line often because of the extra stress of the twist...if I have been skipping docks all day or fineness when I'm on the way back to the dock at night I'll cut off the bait and let majority of the line out and pull it in the water to take out the twist and relax the line, shift into N and reel in the line with little resistance - this also helps during the day...sorry I don't usually use the letter "I" so much...lol

Assuming the latest reel dosen't perform like your first one my first thought was the roller bearing or line catch at the base of the bail wire, just because they are both Saharas dosen't mean they are the same look at the letters on your spool after Sahara you will see something like fl or fe which means a different model still being a Sahara.
When in doubt set the hook..Retie often

Few basic tricks that I use to keep things managible for spinning reels.
1) Never use the reel handle to close the bail. Always close by hand. 2) Don't reel against the drag as it will add twist. 3) When spooling up with fresh line I don't try to fight the twist at that time. Just get the line on the reel. Then go outside and weight the end of the line down with a rock or something. Walk away pulling all the line off the spool. Then pull the end of the line out from under the rock and reel the line back up. The twist will come out of the line with the end of the line free to rotate. You might need to do this twice at most. You can also do this on the lake by just dragging the line if you want to take a few minutes out of your fishing time on the water.

I just lean my rod up against a lawn chair in the garage, open the bail, and walk down the street with the line in my hand. Once I get 100 or so yards from the house I walk back and reel the line back onto the reel. I do this every line change and any time the twist starts getting bothersome... I don't like using spinning reels much to start with, but line problems give me the blues. It sounds like to may have an issue with your reel if it's messing up after a few casts. I'd take these guys advice and inspect the roller bearing

Just cast parallel with the bank and walk along the bank then reel in; or tie a sinker on the end of your line and cast out in your yard and walk about 100 yards. That would probably work. Also always close bail by hand, never close it by the reel handle. I have used many types of florocarbon, the best in my opinion is Seaguar Red Lable. It has very low memory, and is very abrasive resistant. Hope this helps you out.
