Yeah you probably are wasting your time but if you wait til water temp, full moon, perfect weather, good fishing report, and stars line up. You will never go.

In 23 years of fishing on the border I have never, ever seen a Mexican official.

You should have listened. You can't fix a dead sea.

You will wasting your time. Been here since 4/3 and one here and one there maybe. Talk to a guy at dinner last night that was out with a guide on Sunday and same thing with the guide. Brought my RV and was planning on staying month of April but rethinking that now. Wish I had listen to reports I read before I came down here and saved my money.

Yup...Bastrop is closer and is on fire from what I hear!! One good thing is, I got to run my boat hard after the lower unit repair. It ran flawlessly...I was impressed...

Would you need a Texas license if your fishing the Mexican side only? Do you have to be in the act of fishing or just have the gear? Just curious Is the little money a license cost vs the amount of fuel it will take to get there.... Worth the chance of a bigger fine ??

You should have listened. You can't fix a dead sea. You can; but it's going to take time and the right conditions. But at least a few have started believing.

If the lake is to bounce back water levels need to stabilize and/or raise. Need more cover in the water. Grass! Gonna be at least a couple years for numbers to bounce back if at all. Hard to imagine it getting any worse. With fewer fish and so much lake the ones that left should be healthy.

I got home from Amistad yesterday evening after 5 ish days of fishing. We arrived at Amistad wednesday and was able to fish for about three hours. This was the best three hours of the trip. We landed 8 and two got off, all in the 2-3 lb range. Thursday, we went up the devil's river and caught 6 or 7 all day along with a couple of sand bass. We did see a few on beds, but nothing big. Friday we fished near black brush and around san pedro near the bridge. Didn't do much better than thursday. Saturday the wind blew hard. We went up the grande past 28. We didn't get much fishing in because the boat was having trouble starting We fished a couple of coves and caught several 10 inchers. probably 15 total for the day. Sunday am the whole lake was smooth as glass. i caught one fish before heading home.
