Academy has the Rapala DT-6 and the DT-10 in demom color $4.98 on sale

Cabelas has the DT6 and 10's for 2.98 and 3.98 in the cave!

I have used their wake baits and really like them. Nearly won a tournament in Massachussettes with them. I'm sure they are a gimmick. I will say this, I used the top water spook style bait and while in that same tourney I caught two really good fish on them, that particular lure does croak. I would let it sit after working it, and both strikes came right after it croaked. BIL worked a regular spook in same spots without a strike. Could be total coincidence. But as far as being right place at right time I totally agree. But that can be said about any lure out there.

Well, I'm new at this but, it does come highly recommended and the added features are kinda unique so, can't hurt!! LOL, nothing to lose but a little time and a few bucks. Wait, isn't that what fishing is all about, 'time and a few bucks' ??? rolfmao

Sounds innovative to me ...but...could just be another lure to catch 'fishermen'.

Test em and let us know how they work out. It's all part of the game. Sometimes a little difference makes a big difference.

If I'm gonna fish with something that has a electrical current, I'll stick with 2 wires and hand crank telephone

The thing is, can never be proved weither it catches more or less fish because of the subtle clicks it puts out. They catch fish with or without the clicks because they are modeled after popular existing cranks on the market. Would take extensive research by presenting 2 identical baits side by side one that clicks and see if the bass have any preference to which one they eat. I'd bet it doesnt make any difference. The natural vibrations and rattles dwarf the ever so slight click sound it makes. Unless guys catch them like the a rig when it first come out it's just a gimmick. And no one can disprove one way or the other. Maybe with a slowly worked jerkbait it could make a difference in perfect conditions, but I think water displacement and loud rattles when you jerk it would get fish's attention more than a light subtle auditory click.

I agree with that for sure. The one thing I will say i like is the croaking sound they make, I can hear it a good ways from the boat. Again, it could just be a total coincidence but i caught two good ones in teh heat of the summer on the spook bait after it sat for a second and croaked. As far as the light and other stuff I am not sold on it.

Mmmmm...well being 'newbie' I'm sure willing to try new things!
What's it going to cost me? Some time and small amount of money.
WAIT: Isn't that what fishing costs anway: time and money? LOL
I will share my opinion, for whatever that's worth, when I get and get to try them!

I think the sounds will help. It's kind of the same way with a rattling vs. a silent bait. Sometimes a change from one to the other will be the difference in getting a school of fish fired back up when they stop biting. Nowadays with how much pressure all of our lakes get, it's just something different the fish have never seen, or I guess, heard.

I doubt it. I bought 3 of them as the electronic sound thing intrigued me since I am geeky. I have fished all 3 and not one sound. So until i catch fish with them no more buying for me.

You can hear while it's in the water? The sound is pretty faint, but it's there.

At the Oakley Big Bass on Guntersville in October, I purchased the Livingston Lure version of the Zara Spook, I have yet to hear it "croak". I'll stick with the Lucky Craft pointer series. Glad I only paid half price.
