I saw a pretty good list of waypoints that one of or some of the guides had put together. Looking for that list so I can pass along to some club members that are first timers on Fork. Anyone have that list they could post?

Thanks

If you want to run on Fork just pucker-up and go. Every day the level drops you have a new challenge. I was on the lake the first day it legally opened Labor Day 1980. Even the main boat lanes have a few stumps. Those around from the beginning remember the big trees that are in the opening to Big Caney and Lake Fork Creek boat lanes. When you went north from dam area you would pass those in each lane going north. When you got to split to Rainswood or Birch they left another big tree in middle of boat lane. Running north under 154 around bird island a few challenges. As lake drops new opportunities for lower unit contact. My buddy hit one between big and little mustang that he had passed over countless times.I still will run but I can't remember every thing. Pucker-up and go. That's why we have insurance.

Pucker up and go sounds like horrible advice great way to get seriously injured. Hit one supper hard motor could come dismounted and land it your lap, you could hit one with hull of boat and get flung from boat into this cold water or smash into wheel breaking ribs or maybe getting a concussion. If u dont know dont run it. Guide cut and the non marked lane coming out of LFM are dangerous as water level drops. Just stay safe

Pucker up and go? Sounds like you don't fish with your kids or grandkids. If you don't know Fork, don't run it like you do. I have also fished Fork since the early 80's and there are still a lot of places that I will only idle through. There are also places that I will run that everyone else just idles through, but I know those areas very well.

I used to pucker up and go...not any more.

Be safe my friends.

Whether you think you can or you can't, you are probably right.

there is one going into caney that almost got me a few days ago, middle of lane and barely sticking up. I will now idle from the mouth in. can't afford a lower unit replacement or worse boat replacement.

If you have GPS (surprising # of people don't, which blows my mind) it is a no brainer. I ran it at 6.75' low with no issues. People start cutting left over the hump to the bridge to save a few seconds and screw stuff up. Not rocket science, common sense goes a long ways....I have some pics of the area before the lake filled up from the Martin's Map book and much of the area was clear pasture.

Here is the same hazard-list, but I included a waypoint icon symbol which I forgot earlier. My bad.

It is a Humminbird waypoint icon symbol for Skull-Crossbone.

Is there a trick to import these so they don't have to be entered manually?
