Texas Performance Diesel in Emory. It's the only place I will let work on my truck.

Hub bearings upper and lower ball joints steering dampner (sp) plus alignment. ..diesel performance don't do front end work.

2400 sounds like a lot till you throw the hub bearings in there.

I know its not a dodge, but a coworker of mine had to replace the hubs on a F250 and just the hubs ran him over 1000.

I've done several of these. Dodge sells a so called kit! You need to replace the trac bar, the steering dampner and pitman arm. The problem is the front end on a 4x4 one ton dodge is not beefy enough and when you hit a pothole or bump, then the front end shakes violently until you stop. Have'nt for the life of me figured why dodge just didn't recall this. Depending on the mileage, you probably need ball joints as Dodges are the worlds worst on ball joint wear. $1600 to $1800 is probably close to replacing the front end parts and ball joints.

Oh, by the way, if you have any questions you can call me @903-882-3230. I am in Lindale. I can give you an estimate, but would really need to look at it. My name is Marc!

Back in the day, dodge trucks and jeeps had the same problem and replacing shocks and steering dampners fixed the problem

Before you drop a lot of coin on the truck, go and get a wheel alignment and have the tires checked and balanced.
I had a similar problem and I did that and the wobble went away.

Just one more cast!

if I remember correctly Dodge has came out with a recall that covers some of the front end steering linkage. Not sure on the year range but covers all of the straight axle trucks - (1500 Mega cabs and 3/4 and 1 ton trucks). Don't know if your year is covered or not. Call the Dodge corporate office with vin or go online that should tell you about recalls.

Read the section labeled Steering/Suspension.
In essence, the original steering that came in the 4x4 diesel trucks thru early 07 was ok, but undersized and due to the heavy front end, would wear quickly.
In 2007, Chrysler had a service letter to dealers stating that if a customer complained of DW, reset the tire presure to max allowed by tire manufacturer and inspect overall condition of front end, make necessary repairs and return to customer. If it came back again with complaint of DW, install the update kit that was basically the C&C 4500-5500 steering. HEAVY DUTY COMPONENTS.
There have been a few recall notices about the update kits since, mostly related to the possibility of a poor front end alignment being performed and causing the left side rod end to be put into a bind which could lead to fracture.
Ram has recently decided to redesign those components with a fail safe built in so that it will be impossible to adjust the front end to the point to where the rod ends can be put into a bind.
If you have the old original components, I would suggest you put aftermarket adjustable track bar, rod ends, shocks..
If you ahve the updated suspension, take it to Ram, they will do the update for free.
DW can be caused by things not related to bad suspension components as well...
D rated tires on a diesel is a MAJOR contributor to DW. The D rated tires do not have a ridgid enough sidewall to handle the cummins. You MUST run E rated tires on the front end. Also, run the air pressure at the upper end of the tire specs on the front. a good set of Bilstein shocks are needed. Put a Steering Box Stabilizer on it.
Remember, the truck is 14 years old.. time to show it some love..
