I've used google maps...bing maps....to look at lakes...what other map sites out there have you found helpful?????

While it's not a "map" per se, Google Earth allows you to click on older satellite images such as 2009 and 2011 and see the lakes when they were super low. You can also overlay USGS topo maps that help as well.

http://mapper.acme.com/ is a fun one to play with to make you own. I have used it to create waypoints on my HB GPS unit with the LAT and LONG coordinates. Zoom in and look at the topo view of Fork. ACME Mapper Lake Fork

How do you overlay a USGS map onto a Google satellite map??????
Double Click the kml file. Dialog box opens asking if you want to open or save. Click Save. Google Earth opens and the kml file is added to your Temporary Places. Right Click the related place name and rename it to a meaningful name. Click and drag the renamed place to My Places folder to preserve it. Hope this helps.
