Storm Rattlin' Chug Bug - I have more confidence in them than I do a YM based on the many years I've kept a Chug Bug in the water. Chug bugs are where it is at! chrome, or shad pattern are my two favorites! you fish this side by side to me in same body water my yellow magic chrome or shad pattern you will be getting the net a lot more then me Yea but your a pro, just look at all your sponsors.

I have at least 30 Yellow Magics and have been throwing them since Mustang Resort at Fork started distributing them years ago and feel they along with the Rico and Splash are the best poppers ever made. But early last year I was able to fish the final prototype LFT poppers and they fished just as well (not better) as the YM. If all other aspects are equal I for sure like the $10 price of the LFT popper better then the $15 tag on the YM. There are also times a Sammy will outfish a popper of any brand.

Would like some opinions on topwater baits you think are better than a Yellow Magic. I'm talking about open water topwaters, so frogs are out.
If you could only throw one topwater for an entire year, what would it be? Better than the current Yellow Magic? Yellow Magic +1 (no longer made) I used to have two of them. I loaned one out and can't seem to get it back.

The reason I claim that the 3, Rico, YM and Splash It are the same baits, back about 10 years or so ago, don't remember how long, I stripped all 3 down to a clear finish and compared each one side by side. Looked exactly like the same bait to me, but that is just my opinion. Don't know if anyone else has stripped them down, but I wanted to compare and they looked exact to me. Hope this helps.
Tight lines, keep safe and good luck.

I recently picked up a Megabass Pop X and got a LFT popper in my mystery tacklebox. I wanna try both but just have so much confidence in the YM its gonna be hard.

POP R! I am sponsored by myself! If you keep buying the latest and greatest lures on the market you will spend a lot of money and prolly won't catch anymore fish, and will end up with a bunch of stuff you never even tied on. There that is just my thoughts. Thanks I'm done!

Yellow magic, followed closely by a LC Sammy. Sammy 65 is my favorite. Caught bigger on the YM

Chug bug is definitely the best top water I have ever thrown! You get way more bites and catch big fish on them quite often too! I'd put it up against a yellow magic any day cause I know it would kick the yellow magics arse lol. If you don't so well on it it's cause you ain't workin it right. Just my 2 cents

Spook or chug bug. I have a yellow magic, it's ok but not special. Maybe I have the wrong color.

Never tried YM , but Pop'r has been good to me. Chug bug is good too, but I have less confidence, from these reviews I should give it more time tied on...

I see a few almost coughing it out but I have a few H20's that will out fish my YM regularly, dang paint is about wore off them. Also have a few stinkers that don't seem to work at all, bad run or did I just get lucky with the few that do work? I don't know but I aint giving them up! Think I bought them when they where under $3.00 too, go figure. Kind of hard to be confident with a $3 bait when you $15+ baits in the box but they work.
