That Bracket is for the PowerDrive and not the Terrova... Minn Kota MKA-21 PowerDrive Composite Quick Release Bracket PowerDrive™ Composite Quick Release Bracket (MKA-21) Allows for easy removal of any PowerDrive™ or PowerDrive with AutoPilot™ trolling motor. Composite construction is super strong and impervious to corrosion. Low-profile puck design leaves deck clear when motor is removed. Locking handle can be secured with padlock (not included). Available adapter plate (MKA-22, not shown) allows hole pattern from previously mounted motors or aluminum quick release brackets (MKA-16-02) to be used with MKA-21 composite bracket. The Terrova should be mounted utilizing the Minn Kota MKA-47 Universal Mounting Bracket Minn Kota MKA-47 Universal Mounting Bracket MKA-47 Universal Mounting Bracket Universal Mounting Bracket (All Aluminum) allows you to easily switch between cable steer and electric steer motors, so you can choose the right trolling motor for the application. Utilizes existing mounting hole patterns. No additional drilling is required. Innovative positioning mechanism allows motor to slide inboard (up to 6") for additional clearance when launching boat. Removable top plate allows motor to be easily removed for storage and security. Thanks for the info! It was actually Minn Kota who told me to use the MKA 21 and it worked fine for about 2 years. But I'll definitely look into the MKA 47 when I replace my unit with the Terrova 112.

I had a similar experience @ Fork a few years back. I put in @ Popes on Saturday evening with my family in tow in a Nitro that I had bought new about a year earlier. I backed the boat in with my wife at the helm; she loves to drive and says that I go way to fast, she fires it up and gets it off the trailer. I go park the tow vehicle and load up. I tell her to head towards the bridge @ Mustang and just as soon as we go under it I have her idle over to the north side and we drop the TM and start to fish. I hadn't made two cast when all of the sudden the TM locks up. I pull it up and it has about 100 yards of braid balled up on it. I break out my pocket knife and the TM prop wrench and in about 5 minutes we are back in business. We troll about another 50 yards or so and all of the sudden the TM takes off without the boat. TM mounting bushings give way so I pull it over in the boat and we fire up the big motor and easy back toward Popes where I see a spot we can tie up near the shore that I had caught quiet a few fish from, so we set up camp and start fishing again. We are about 25 yards from shore and here comes this yoyo in a party barge between us and the shore a runs right down through our fishing spot with our lines out and he runs over them. We fish a little more and finally give up after not getting bit for a while. My wife fires up the big motor and we head for the ramp. She drops me off and I go to get our ride. I unlock the door, get in, put the key in the ignition and "NOTHING".....dead battery, so I have to get out the jumper cables and go find some one to jump me off. We get loaded and get out of there. I wound up having to go to the parts store that afternoon to buy a battery. What a day!

The last time I went out solo I forgot to put my boat plug in I was more worried about my truck being broken into cause there was a lot of bums at the ramp so I put the boat in tied it off and make sure I left nothing in the truck that would temp someone to break in. I go back down to the water and hop in the boat. There's a bunch of docks by the ramp so I decide to just troll down and start fishing. Mind you it's still dark about with about 30-45 minutes till safe light. I'm fishing a dock and something tells me to look behind me in the boat. I notice the water filling up so I troll to the bank side and quickly grab the plug stick my arm in the water and get the plug in the hole.....so I thought. The bilge pump kicks on and water starts pouring out. I'm thinking man that was a close one....well a couple minutes go by and I notice the water isn't going down. I run on these peoples property steal their garden pitcher and start taking the water out the boat. I started freaking out so I figured I need to take all my gear out. Then back to using the pitcher I go. I stopped to take a break and noticed s#it I stuck the plug in the wrong hole. I always have a second plug in the boat so I grab it and go to stick it in and the plug falls out of my hand in sinks to the bottom of the lake. I thought I was done for. I built up the courage to pull the plug out of the wrong hole and quickly stuck it in the right hole. Finally all the water started to exit the boat. By this time the sun is finally coming up. I figured well what the hell I'm already out here i might as well stay out here and fish. I had one solid keeper that busted my line right at the boat. That was my final straw I had to call it a day.
