I want to try the Motor Mate, right now I have the cylinder that goes over the trim shaft (250 SHO). Someone at a local boat dealer said to get rid of the cylinder and do not use the motor mate that they are bad for the transom. He said to use the transom saver that connects to the roller on the trailer and lower unit. Still researching.

Only $29.99 at Bass Pro Shop!

Motor Mate appear to be a great product as well, but I think I'll try the Rite Hite and see if it is durable, especially at that price...

This is what I have now (or a copy of it). I am looking for something different. The sleeve areas that slip over the trim pistons sit there and bounce on the tips of the pistons and eventually start to mushroom the tips of them. I've already had to grind mine back smooth just so I could slide the mount back over it without having to force it on.

I love the Motormate on my Mercury ProXS, but to make sure you don't mess up the caps that go over the 2 mounting bolts I make sure I still use steering locks so that the engine is perfectly straight, then take my time to trim the motor down and don't hit the caps. Solid!

Do the little clips at the bottom of the motor cause anything noticeable while running?

Received my MM last week and have only made one trip with it so far but it is a great product. Just driving down the road I can tell that the motor is a lot more stable and basically dosen't bounce at all. I have a 250 SHO and when I got my boat it came with the "rubber" stabalizer that goes over one of the trim rods. I have had many transom savers and so far the MM is the best one I have used.
