Well done, some great fish there!

You are correct, we caught a lot of very very full channel cats there. After two Fork sessions last week, I don't ever want to see another channel cat as long as I live. I caught conservatively 75 channel cats. Move over Chad! hammer

Nice session! That spot is really nice when the boats aren't screaming in and out of the ramp all day.

Thanks again everyone. Yeah we were lucky in the sense that there was a serious storm that weekend and kept the boats at bay.
Ben, how long of a session did you put in? DId you go back to the same swim?

Is there an abnormaly high ratio of cats to carp in lake fork? Fishing the Austin area for 3 years I've only caught 3 catfish using oatmweal cream corn method and hookbaits like K-1 pineapple corn.

North Texas lakes in general are infested with channel cats. So to answer your question I would say yes. I had a session on Fork a couple months ago where the cats were so thick I couldn't keep bait on the hair for more than about a minute. That went on for a whole day. Talk about frustrating. Carp didn't have a chance to find the bait.
I recently moved from Austin and yeah the cats are much thinner there. Although my pb blue cat comes from LBL while carp fishing.

If you check the catfish section you'll find that lake fork is one of the best channel cat lakes in north texas....maybe the state.

I can definitely see that. I don't see why a catfisherman fishing for food could possibly want to fish anywhere else in the area. lol
