I wish I had a 2 day limit of crappie in my freezer. They just wouldn't be there long. They never last.

If you are worried just do not label your bags and tell the GW that they are carp you are selling to the local Chinese restaurant. What are they going to do. Thaw the fish and do DNA testing?

this is the answer...you can keep a freezer full if you want to...

you may have up to a legal limit while "in the act of fishing" and up to a possession limit "while not in the act of fishing" if you are camping overnight (or longer.) Once you end the trip with up to your possession limit...place them in your freezer at your primary domicile they cease to be a part of your possession limit. They become whats for dinner...

.Incidentally, the laws do confuse, if you aren't used to the definition of the terms...in other words they are written in legalese...and not user friendly

I was pretty sure I was right. I'm a long way from the freezer not shutting though. Heck, I'm a long way from 50!!

I spoke with Heath Taylor today. He's a TPWD warden from Camp county. Bob Sandlin lake.
He says you can have in possession 2 limits with you at your camp site. But there is not a limit at your final destination. In other words you can have as many limits as you like in your freezer at home but no more than 2 limits at the lake side camp.
Another piece of good news, the migratory bird possession limit has been raised to 3 limits rather than 2 as it has been. So you can go on a 3 day hunt and keep a limit each day.

It would be fun to catch that many but I would not want to clean them. So I will settle for 5 nice fish each fishing trip to keep, say 11"-12" each. smile
