Cast nets are the way to go. Ive used minnow traps before with little luck. used to fish with minnows,again with little luck. Cast nets catch everything you will need for bait. I fiSh for cats,esp blues.HTH

Real cat bait wont fit in a "legal" minnow trap
Take a mess of kids out perch jerking and get all the bait you need
with minimal efforts,PATIENCE may be required . . . . . .

I use a cast net 4-5 times(days) every week,more often then not its 7 days per week the last few years.
My business runs its self so the boss fish's everyday smile
Still nothing better then perch jerking with a mess of kids after the hunt for the big'uns is over for the day.
