Seems I'll only be able to make it out Sunday. Anyone else still gonna be there? If not I may just fish local.

I will get to go with my boys and the little princess on Sunday, and should get a little casual fishing in. I don't want them around a bunch of boat traffic on Texoma tho...

Haha great report Roger.
I will be launching at Highport tomorrow (Saturday) morning before daybreak if anyone wants to join. PM me and I'll give you my number.
Did we ever figure out if non-trailer vehicles have to pay the $5? I was up there last year around this time and talked to one of the ladies in the office and she gave me a Highport Marina sticker and told me that as long as I was launching my kayak that it was no charge. Now, I'm not trailering my yak, so that might be the difference. But this is what the office manager told me.

Yeah, I had always thought the fee was only for trailers also. I have parked there ~40 times without paying and never had an issue, but then someone on here a while back was also saying you had to pay no matter what.
I will be there very early tomorrow (5:30AM or so) if anyone wants to join. If you get there later, look for me and a couple other guys around the islands. There's a chance I'll camp out and fish again Sunday, but it will largely depend on how Saturday goes so I can't say for sure.
Tight lines to everyone this weekend.

I just talked to Scott Hayward ops mgr at Highport. He agreed if you cartop or haul in bed there will be no charge but he asked that you park off to the side/near back and not in trailered areas. If you have trailer you should park in trailered areas and pay. That certainly seems reasonable.

Yep! Going to be there around 6:20am. You gonna join me? Not gonna promise anything but if the forecast holds true, the dam area should be on fire. We should limit out on sandies easy in the morning BUT I think the hybrids will be thick around the cove in the morning too. I have not been to Cooper in 2 weeks but I would guess the water temp should hover around high 60s and warm to lower 70s by afternoon. Might have a epic day for hybrids! Lee

Good luck Lee ole buddy. If Cooper wasn't twice as far I'd join ya. Texoma is a long enough haul for me. Chasing that 30"+ striper.
Tight lines bro, let us know how you do.

Hey, save some for me!
I just got the green light for tomorrow so I'll leave right after soccer. I'll get there around 2:30-3:00.

Awesome! Glad I do not have to go solo. lol. Albert, I might wait for you unless I see/hear hybrids popping by the point. Henry, keep your cell by your side. You might be our Pizza/beer delivery guy. Fred, maybe next time. You fishing with live bait? Lee

Fred, maybe next time. You fishing with live bait? I'm not familiar with catching shad nor am I setup for keeping them alive in my yaks. I have focused mainly on black bass in the past, but I'm trying to learn the striper and hybrid thing. Thanks for posting up the invites and info. Be safe and I hope you guys have good luck at Cooper...
