Update! There were no fish in Texoma this morning! Actually there was one. I caught a 4 lb largemouth on my way back to Highport. I'm beginning to think that this lake hates me!

that sucks, I'm thinking about playing hooky Friday and heading out there Thursday evening. Momma probably won't like that

Yea man, I think I'ma try to make a really early Saturday morning trip out there...

I'm going this weekend. Friday evening, Saturday morning, and Sunday morning... I'm only about 35 minutes from highport, so I can go for 3 hours or so without feeling short-changed..

Hank I might try and join ya Saturday or Sunday. I still have yet to catch a decent striper.

Chugr, I do not have an inflatable pfd. Thanks for type concern though.

Sonny, the conditions were pretty similar to that of Monday I got no idea why the stripers weren't there. Wind direction plays a big part to your success/failure.

Henry, there might be a party going out this Sunday. Spot me a text, I might come out and play on Saturday if I do not go cooper.

Lee, back home now - I went out Monday eve as well. I wrote a long post and submitted from my phone but it disappeared into digital heaven somewhere. I launch about 7pm so only had about an hour and had to make it quick as I didn't want/plan to stay out past dark. Went directly to first place we drew blood, one long cast with large pencil popper almost to the bank in 1 FOW, major blow up and I was on again. With the stumps around, I tightend down on the drag as I had 30lb braid and wasn't afraid to horse her too much - she was still taking drag with the runs all the while dragging me around the stumps, we finally went east and got out of the stumps and I was able to get her to the boat and get a good look .....I'm not going to guess length/weight but she was huuuuuuge. As I tried to lip her, she made another run and when I put pressure on her, all of a sudden it was like I was hung up........and evidently I was. The strange thing is she was still on the line and would strip out some line occassionally but I couldn't get any back. Im thinking somehow she was wrapped around a limb or stump. We were out from the visible stumps in about 8 FOW and I couldn't get a rod end or paddle down to the end of the line. I spent about 30 mins trying to get her loose - I didn't want her hooked to die that way plus I really wanted to get that pencil popper back. I finally had to give up and cut the line.....I left enough that I could tie an empty water bottle to it. By this time, it was dark and still had the trip in but a fun fight - just hope she was able to unhook herself.

I met Sonny at the ramp the next morning and the bottle was still there.....but still couldn't get it loose. THe difference in Monday and Tues was like night and day. Sonny, I talked with some of the guys coming in when we packed up and they were reporting that the fish were all west - all the guides were at the flats around the boy scout camp and mill creek and evidently were all over the fish.

I'm up for some more Texoma or Cooper for anyone going......great weather.

Hmm. Those flats right by MC? They're right by the MC ramp, right? May have to do that...

Saturday am is not looking as good since my wife got wind of my little plan (I forgot about a cross-country run my son 'may' be doing near our house...). I still plan to hit it a few times between Friday and Sunday though. Friday morning is in play now.
