The transom still looks good. And no I didn't have insurance put on it yet  I'm screwed. Does anyone have a cowl they could sell me? Or where I could get one cheaper

Cowl will work fine the way it is.
Trim cylinder not so much!!
You need to check out Google Earth! It shows the lake when it was really LOW and you can see that you should be running on the East or North side of the poles!

i'd have the motor checked out also, if your intake broke and the pieces were sucked in, could get stuck in the valve or make its way into the cylinder, either way could be expensive.

I wouldn't fix anything till I had the transom checked. How would you feel dumping $3k in motor parts then you catch a wake and the whole motor falls off.

Sorry to hear about your bad luck. Got to ask though: what's your passenger doing sitting on the rear deck when running on plane? Bad idea! Hope you get it fixed soon!
