I know I have told this before but just think it is really a unique deal, the old water tower that was there all those years with the bull frog on it was moved to Castroville around 2009 and it sits about 100 yards from my home in the country, I saw that thing all the time when I was a kid or a young dude growing up in Fort worth, when I saw them move it in a few years ago it was a pretty cool flash back to say the least. I had photos of it but when my house burnt down I lost my phone in it.

Seen plans for tpwd for future stockings. It does look good. 4-5 years it should have plenty of Florida strain in it and a healthy habitat Big plans for LW

I know that's a lot of material/mud over a large area but that doesn't seem like much vertically speaking... Major que nada I guess

I fished Lake Worth yesterday (Wednesday) morning. When I tried to go back to Casino Beach about noon, the area between Goat Island and Mosque Point was blocked by a floating pipeline. The dredge crew told me to go around the back (west)side of Goat Island. I carefully motored around the end of Goat Island and it was 6-7 ft. deep pretty much everywhere close to the buoys. So they removed a lot more than 2 ft. in that area - it used to be about 1 ft. deep in places.

In memory of my childhood friend Dan Sterling, who taught me at an early age how to catch bream with a hand-line, and who unknowingly hooked me on fishing for life.

So it's safe to go all the way around Goat Island?

I've never really been over to that side of the lake. U usually stick around the 820 bridge, the shoreline along the base on the east, or across from Casino Beach area.

Yes, it is safe as I posted above. Just take it easy and watch your depth finder. Stay in the vicinity of the buoys with your big motor running. It is 5-6 ft. all the way around until you re-enter the main lake area.

I would not eat anything in that lake,I would only catch & release. In 1949 when my father worked which then was General Dynamics (Lockheed) a B-36 crashed right into the lake. Funny story-- my father talked to one of the divers trying to salvage some of the parts and stated there were catfish bigger than cars down there and that they were not going down there anymore. You can google the story. I cannot imagine what else is in this lake, Maybe the Goatman-remember that story?

I do a lot of noodling and have hit worth this year several times, I can tell you there are places where the water goes from ankle deep to 10ft instantly 20ft from a shore line that was less than 2ft deep last year. The problem is that the average depth isn't changing much because of the amount of silty river and back water in the lake, but 2/3 of the lake will be brand new when they are finished.
