Texans probably aren't the people to seek sympathy from about it raining too much. A lot of places are 4-5 years behind in rainfall and getting worse.

I bet you would be hard pressed to get a tissue from one to wipe up your tears

Oh BTW, High Rock is also a pretty good fishing hole. It's on the Peedee river chain and sits above Tuckertown which sits above Badin which sits above Tillery. Further down the river chain you go the clearer the water gets. Badin is by far the best of them all.
Not to mention Santee Cooper 3hrs south and Murray 1hr south of Charlotte. These are all excellent bass fisheries. And if you get home sick for timber, parts of Jordan lake outside of Raleigh has plenty of standing timber.

I have lived in Oklahoma, Arkansas, Tennesee Alabama and Georgia. All of these states had excellent fishing. Took me some time to find the best lakes and to learn how to fish them. However, I think Texas is hard to beat!

Thanks for the info Firewater! I will definitely PM you when I am headed out again. Conditions are still pretty dangerous with the flooding right now but looks like we may get a break this week. Hopefully the rain moves a little farther west and you guys get a little of it. By the looks of the lake levels it is still not as bad as 3 years ago, but you guys could still use a little wet stuff!
